The first of the trillogy.... yes... good....

I've only heard about them, so when someone mentioned seeing them, I had to ask...

Do you mean "good" as in "actually good"? Or as in "ironically good"?

I'm not sure if I can take these films seriously.............. Were they meant to be taken seriously?

Boogeyman 2
I'm sure you all know the shitfest that was 2005's Boogeyman. Well, this is the direct-to-dvd sequel... and there is a third film in the works, so the word goes. Now, you're probably vomiting right now at the mere mention of a sequel. You shouldn't be. This film is absolutely, in every way possible, better then it's predecessor. If you could even call this film a sequel... that is. It is completely different. The only connection the two share is a reference to the character within the 2005 film, and that's for a mere 5 seconds near the end.

This is a slasher flick, true to the bone. It has a central location. It has a cast of characters, each who die one by one in grotesque ways. It has a buttload of gore; often quite well done, and traps to match. It has characters struggle to identify the killer, and your classic SPOILER... "killer got away" ending.

There was even a scene of genuine tension; as well as a female nudity scene, and a full-blown sex scene (albeit interspliced with a gruesome death to eliminate any eroticism... unless your into maggots.)

Hell, scenes from this film could easily be cut into a mock SAW 5 trailer. It has Tobin Bell spouting a few monologues about bettering oneself, it has a tape recorder scene, a figure that resembles the pig outfit Amanda wore, and traps. Plenty of traps. Throw in the staple SAW jingle in the final scene, and you even have the twist.

I'd recommend it if you like slashers. It has ABSOLUTELY little to do with the 2005 Boogeyman, and I have no idea why they deemed it appropriate to title it BOOGEYMAN 2.

A "spoof" on horror movies.....wasn't terrible...some good kills. Some of the acting was a bit annoying.

Sapnglish: Well acted, very well acted. I am tired of movies ending with no resolution, however. If I want a "slice of life", i'll pay closer attention to my own.



Sweeny Todd. I hate musicals as a rule, but Tim Burton and Johnny Depp could make a movie about selling leaky bags of dog shit and it would probably be brilliant. If all musicals had this much darkness and gore, i could become a fan of the genre.

Sorry, Wrong Number (1948)
An incredibly tense, totally believable thriller adapted from the classic radio show. Stanwyck and Lancaster are both phenominal, and the ending is nothing short of chilling.
