I never even began to look at it that way, you make a really good point. But if you think about it that's not really the whole story for example if you took the cast out of Halloween Resurrection and threw in Gene Hackman, Edward Norton,Johnny Depp and Clint Eastwood do you really think you'd like it? I'm not saying you're wrong I think you've got about 90% of the reason why horror films aren't as good these days.

Given YET ANOTHER career boost with "The Million Dollar Baby" it goes without saying now that, given his success in every decade, in many genres from acting to directing, a mammoth fan base, worldwide fame and a load of awards...he has to go down as perhaps THE most successful all rounder working in films today.
A real Cinematic icon, and to see him get rigfht back on top at the age he is now is justice indeed.

I don't think there's any perhaps he's not only the most successful he's the best.

Yes, i think I would like it more. Mostly because i think that the older and more experienced actors can add something to their caracters to make them more interesting, that the teen actors can`t. Then maybe you would care about them when they are running for their lifes.

I´m pretty sure "secret window" with a teen actor instead of Johnny Depp would just be a plain thriller and probably suck pretty bad.

Taxi - The US remake...It was slightly funny...but overall, something the teens would probably be into, not much thought required. I didn't really like it, but didn't dislike it either.
I'd still like to see the original french version, I've heard it's infinitely better.

Appleseed - Again, I'm not sure if it was a remake of the 80's animated film of the same name, or a sequel to it...I didn't see the original. Anyways, definately some of the best animation I've EVER seen, very VERY nice style...but it wasn't really my kind of movie, didn't think much of the storyline, and found the non-action scenes rather boring, but hey, I'm sure someone might like it. I was happy to have been able to have checked out some truly awesome animation styles.

I just thought you were because of the choice of words you use to describe/review films.

its not just the cast - its also the content ..
the adult oriented horror movies were more layered ..
most young people are content to see the school sluts killed and the goody goody plain janes stalked. Just a bunch of murders..

Thats not going to satisfy older folks ..

I'm a prime example because i though slasher films were the shit when i was a young guy .. but i've completely grown out of them now ..they just don't hold my interest.

Just seen "Hide and seek".

It is actually very good until you see through the plot halfway into the movie. From there it goes downhill towards an ending that you´ve seen a 1000 times before. And the plot dosn´t quite hold water, i think.

But it´s well acted.

Watched the omen last night. And having a halloween marathon tonight.

just watched secret window on hbo....thought it was sorta lame.
turturro's the man...i thought it'd be tough to watch him in this role....but it turned out depp was tuffer to watch, especially during and after the twist..

Yeah, the worst part was you could kinda see the ending coming about halfway through the flick.

Not seen any of them. I only pay out for cinema tickets if it's a film i really want to see or for a film that really needs to be seen at least once on the big screen.
