Moving ahead to...

1 - Do you remember when you first watched it? Theater, VHS or DVD?

2 - Did you get any feedback (from friends or media) prior to watching it?

3 - How was your first viewing experience? Did the gore shock you?

4 - How many times have you re-watched it since?

5 - Any special memories associated with it, that you wish to share?

VHS

2 - Did you get any feedback (from friends or media) prior to watching it?

The only thing I knew was that the director was the same guy who had made Bad Taste.

3 - How was your first viewing experience? Did the gore shock you?

Not really shocking. I was surprised at the time how much fake blood was in the lawnmower scene. I watched it with a couple buddies and we laughed through the whole thing.

4 - How many times have you re-watched it since?

Realistically...probably around 30 times.

5 - Any special memories associated with it, that you wish to share?

One of my friends that I watched it with killed himself a few years later and while we watched a bunch of movies back then, I really remember him laughing a lot during that one.

Interesting.

Anyone else?

Is this the Peter Jackson movie? I barely remember seeing it once. I thought the story was pretty bad and the horror aspect wasn't scary but I think it was over the top. I can't remember much except a lot of blood and a crazy large monster at the end. I saw it on Fear Net I believe.

Hey V, now that the 100 years of horror is done, how about more of this?

1. None of these...FearNet.

2. I had heard something from one of my older sister's ex-boyfriends. He was not a horror fan, and he didn't like it. But the way he described it sounded great to me, so I decided to give it a shot.

3. I laughed through nausea, I know that much. It didn't shock me, but I can't act like I'm made of stone.

4. I've seen it over 5 or 6 times now. Love it.

5. I showed it to one of my high school boyfriends, and he "coincidentally" broke up with me the next day. About a year ago, I ran into him at the bar and he said that he had dumped me because the movie freaked him out and I was "too hardcore" for him. I found that hysterical.

I now realize that this thread is super old. Sorry. :/

LOL! I'm sorry, I just can't imagine a guy breaking up with a girl because she picked out Dead Alive to watch, and that meant she was "too hardcore". I guess everybody's different and anything is possible, but seems a bit convenient to blame a movie someone picked out or likes. It's not like your favorite movie was Faces of Death, or the Bad Lieutenant. It's impossible to take Dead Alive seriously, it's just too goofy. I recommend you don't believe anything that guy had ever said, Cara. :) I can't imagine dropping someone over a movie... I think I would really have to believe they enjoyed cruelty.

I remember it really creeped me out when I watched it. I've always regarded it highly for that.
