Why put anime in it? One anime sequence in the movie is enough, two would be redundant. Besides, there's no place to put an anime sequence. It made sense for O-Ren's backstory.

Two eyes being popped out? Not a lot, but more than none.


Perhaps he didn't think they were unbalanced. Besides, at the risk of being redundant, it was one movie. It was split after it was done.


Okay, where was there non-stop action? The Crazy 88 scene? Fine. Split that between both movies. That'll make them equal.

Maybe if you'd gotten that it's one movie instead of going on and on about stuff that means nothing, people (me) wouldn't have had to tell you over and over again that it's one movie.

No, I gave the "one movie" mantra. But other than that I haven't said anything because you haven't said anything other than "Blah blah blah budget and time for second movie" then said that you didn't like it. I don't care that you didn't like it, and the fact that it is one movie completely negates the "budget and time for the second movie" thing.

The thread asked for opinions, Sam, and you've offered none but the opinion that I somehow don't understand it was "one movie". If you're keeping your opinions for your site, then why bother posting here at all on the subject ? If I had as little to say about it as you've done, I wouldn't have bothered to say anything at all. V2 pales in comparison to V1 as far as I'm concerned. I gave my opinions why here. All you seem to want to do is repute them. You sound like a broken record at this point with the "one movie" thing. If that's all you had to say, you said it. I still say the second half sucked compared to the first. Drop it already. This has gotten almost as boring as the second half of the movie itself.

the anime sequence is in the same spot as the flash back sequence in V2 is which is B being trained by Pai Mei.....it has the same kind of feel and makes you not miss the anime sequence......so that is 70's Kung Fu....then it mixes Spagetti Western and Revenge films also a little pinch of Italian Horror....by one of Quentin's favorites Lucio Fulci.......

Just like Quentin said in an interview....

"Kill Bill Volume One is all about Kill Kill Kill.....and Volume Two is all about Bill Bill Bill.......it lays out the story and makes it more believable.......If the fight scene at the end with Bill would have been pure slaughter it would have set Beatrixx back a notch.....she wanted to go from a murderous life to a life as a wife and mother.....which as Bill said you can't just jump into....it showed her kill the Crazy 88's then as she found out her daughter was alive it showed how killing Bill would have finished what she wanted and be able to fullfill her wants as a mother.....She took her daughter and also got the revenge she wanted....plain and simple.....

Volume One showed her strength of how she was able to get her revenge and Volume Two was resolving the story and finishing her revenge and also changing her life by regaining her daughter who she once thought she lost.

Volume Two had Quentin's trademark dialogue......THATS WHAT PEOPLE WANTED!! Die hard Tarentino fans wanted dialogue mixed with some of the aroma of the first film and in my opinion he gave it that by cutting the two films in half and releasing them as two seperate films......also by doing that in my opinion he made more money....because releasing one he made about $70 million in America and about $180 million worldwide and then Volume Two made about $66 million in America and about $150 million worldwide so total it made $136 million dollars in America when it would have only made about $80 million in America so I think that was smart thinking by Quentin......

The studio releasing it deemed it worthy to be $16 to see "one movie" at 2 seperate times instead of $8 and I haven't seen any video store renting them both together as "one movie" at a single rental price. It's one story. It was filmed consecutively. They did the same shit with 'Lord of the Rings'. It won 3 Academy Awards for Best Pictures, not one. Fuckin' drop it already. I've personally wasted enough time just watching the second half of your "one movie". Wasting more time debating you about our opinions on it today makes me like it even less now. We'll talk again on it in 15 years if Q does make a third installment on it. Other than that, I'm done discussing it. Period.

Anyways, there's a difference. LOTR was always three movies. That's because there were three books. Kill Bill was one movie until post-production. But, there I go again, mentioning how it was one movie. I mean, sure, you brought it up again, and I'm only replying to you, but it must be my fault.

Well I for one liked Vol. 2 more than the first, mainly because it actually seemed like a Tarantino movie. And the battle between Beatrix and Bill at the end was pefect, the last thing we needed was another long and drawn out fight scene.
