"No interesting music"
I, for one, like the Dollars Trilogy music "cross genres" There were at least two (Spaghetti Western and 70's Kung Fu) in addition to the overall Revenge Movie genre "anime" Why put anime in it? One anime sequence in the movie is enough, two would be redundant. Besides, there's no place to put an anime sequence. It made sense for O-Ren's backstory. "over the top action" Two eyes being popped out? Not a lot, but more than none. Quote:

As for opinions, I'll save them for my site. Quote:

The thread asked for opinions, Sam, and you've offered none but the opinion that I somehow don't understand it was "one movie". If you're keeping your opinions for your site, then why bother posting here at all on the subject ? If I had as little to say about it as you've done, I wouldn't have bothered to say anything at all. V2 pales in comparison to V1 as far as I'm concerned. I gave my opinions why here. All you seem to want to do is repute them. You sound like a broken record at this point with the "one movie" thing. If that's all you had to say, you said it. I still say the second half sucked compared to the first. Drop it already. This has gotten almost as boring as the second half of the movie itself.

I've given an opinion, that they were great when put together. That's all I'm saying here. But it's an opinion.
And again, I say it's one movie because you obviously weren't grasping the fact that it's one movie, as you kept referring to it like it's a seperate movie. |
sam this guy is just stupid.....
ill say something the anime sequence is in the same spot as the flash back sequence in V2 is which is B being trained by Pai Mei.....it has the same kind of feel and makes you not miss the anime sequence......so that is 70's Kung Fu....then it mixes Spagetti Western and Revenge films also a little pinch of Italian Horror....by one of Quentin's favorites Lucio Fulci....... Just like Quentin said in an interview.... "Kill Bill Volume One is all about Kill Kill Kill.....and Volume Two is all about Bill Bill Bill.......it lays out the story and makes it more believable.......If the fight scene at the end with Bill would have been pure slaughter it would have set Beatrixx back a notch.....she wanted to go from a murderous life to a life as a wife and mother.....which as Bill said you can't just jump into....it showed her kill the Crazy 88's then as she found out her daughter was alive it showed how killing Bill would have finished what she wanted and be able to fullfill her wants as a mother.....She took her daughter and also got the revenge she wanted....plain and simple..... Volume One showed her strength of how she was able to get her revenge and Volume Two was resolving the story and finishing her revenge and also changing her life by regaining her daughter who she once thought she lost. Volume Two had Quentin's trademark dialogue......THATS WHAT PEOPLE WANTED!! Die hard Tarentino fans wanted dialogue mixed with some of the aroma of the first film and in my opinion he gave it that by cutting the two films in half and releasing them as two seperate films......also by doing that in my opinion he made more money....because releasing one he made about $70 million in America and about $180 million worldwide and then Volume Two made about $66 million in America and about $150 million worldwide so total it made $136 million dollars in America when it would have only made about $80 million in America so I think that was smart thinking by Quentin...... Anyways, there's a difference. LOTR was always three movies. That's because there were three books. Kill Bill was one movie until post-production. But, there I go again, mentioning how it was one movie. I mean, sure, you brought it up again, and I'm only replying to you, but it must be my fault. Quote:
|
and its 12 years.....
but it is all one movie he would have released it as one movie if he was allowed to do so but it was too long to release as one movie so he cut it into to halves aka volumes......see LOTR was acually 3 movies seperate movies and names aka sub titles.....volume 1 and 2 is just the halves of one film.....hopefully you can feel dumb now |
Well I for one liked Vol. 2 more than the first, mainly because it actually seemed like a Tarantino movie. And the battle between Beatrix and Bill at the end was pefect, the last thing we needed was another long and drawn out fight scene.

Good. And you can tell your little buddy Gore that 'Titanic' is still the biggest blockbuster in the world by ticket prices. Doesn't mean it was necessarily good now, does it ? Brittany Spears sells out concerts everywhere and I wouldn't exactly consider her to be a talent as well. You know what they say, Sam. 'Opinions are like assholes- everyone has one.' I congratulate you on having 2 (one of course being Gore LOL). Name calling and insulting is always a good way to start off a reply to a thread that you had no interest in, much less were conversing with the parties who were.

your oh so cool....im just making you realize that it was one flick cut in two during post-production like sam said...and LOTR was made for 3 different films.....and yes Titanic was a smash at the box office but that was because 11 year old girls went to see Leo 15 times and 12 yr old horny boys wanted to see Kate Winslits tits 15 times....so thats why it made so much money |
I was merely pointing out that your kiss-ass of a buddy should let people talking talk instead of jumping in with his comments. Considering his post is filled with spelling errors, missing contractions and is a continual run on sentence (besides not exactly being correct), I find it amusing he has the nerve to refer to anyone as being "stupid".

you know whats funny.....i was one of the first talking in this thread....and im not kiss ass acually cause sam and i have had our difference in the past....and i wasnt jumping in i was acually giving my opinion which in fact was more of an opinion then what you gave......
btw no one cares what you think :) |
i also had 15 minutes or less in the bidding :)

Hey, Sam, I dropped the film topic long ago. If your little wannabe buddy wants to jump in and start talking shit to me on something completely unrelated, that's fine. I've got no beef with you. We talked, didn't agree and that was it. There was no name calling or insults being exchanged between us which is how it should've been. Gore was the one trying to side up with you by calling me stupid when he had nothing to do with our discussion. Sorry if you don't see something wrong with that from my point of view. I'm sure you would not appreciate it if someone interrupted us by saying "Oh, DVP, why bother ? Sam is an idiot ?". I would've taken exeption to that even if they were trying to agree with what I was saying and told them so. There's an old adage "Slander is the first sign of a lost argument". Apparently, Gore can't read or comprehend very well so it would only make sense he wouldn't understand that if he had tried to sound out the words from a book that had no pictures in it. We disagree on a film ? Vive la differance. I don't see why I should let him off the hook for his stupid actions.

No, it's not ok, "douchebag" (since you love to use that word so much). You show up here name calling people you know nothing about. You set yourself up with the "stupid" remark. Just as I suspected, you are still in school. You have a job, girlfriend and a life outside this thread ? Then why not grow up and act like it.
I already am making movies and am quite successful in that field. Remember that the next time you're prematurely ejaculating on your girlfriend's thigh at the drive-in for some film you think is "cool", you incomprehensible know-nothing. I hope my picture will be in in your little film school book by the time you're in school, flipping you off and saying "Who's stupid now, douchebag ?". Unfortunately, schools tend to carry textbooks, so I'd be better off just sending you an autographed picture. Can you read cursive handwriting ? I want to be sure that you'll be able to understand my message jotted onto it. CK |
Gee, darth, why don't you say how you REALLY feel?
