-Black Mountain Side
I read it's average but I think I'll like it.

-Zombieland 2
seems to be confirmed and will feature the same director.

-Thrill Ride
from the writers of Neigbours (2014) sounds like fun.

“At Senior Night, a high school rents out an amusement park for the entire senior class where everyone rides the rides and plays the games as much as they want with no lines and no rules.
The only drawback: students start dying on the rides in elaborate ways. All the exits are sealed, and there is a killer on the loose turning all the rides into ways of punishing the bullies and the so called bad people at school.”

Was looking forward to Annabelle. Until I saw it that is.

Baron Von Marlon 10-14-2014 08:33 PM

-Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters 2
I liked the first one and this will have the same writer so I think it'll be alright.
Read there will be voodoo involved.

-Penguins of Madagascar (2014)
Should be fun.

Must say, Interstellar has me rather giddy.

Anthropophagus 11-02-2014 01:07 AM

I have to be really honest but nothing at the moment grabs my attention.I will have to stick to my collection i think for a while.

Baron Von Marlon 11-04-2014 06:49 PM

Chappie from Neill Blomkamp, the guy who made District 9 and Elysium.

horcrux2007 11-04-2014 07:46 PM

The Pyramid could be watchable.

The story sounds pretty sweet, but I have my fears it's gonna be yet another found footage fuck fest.

If it's found footage, it's just gonna be As Above/So Below 2. That's gonna piss me off because I can't tell if it's found footage or not by the trailer.

Baron Von Marlon 11-05-2014 05:52 PM

Encounters
Scandinavian sci-fi/horror found footage.

"Follows a group of four young filmmakers who travel into the Swedish woods to shoot a low-budget horror movie. The shooting unravels when they get lost and one of the actors disappears only to return hours later, naked and in a catatonic state."

"November 18th 2011 a small Danish film crew disappeared in the woods of northern Sweden without a trace. One year later, their footage was leaked by a hacker group now known as Pandoras. This is the crew's unsettling and disturbing footage."

Thought I read it wasn't going to be found footage after all.

Read about this one. Sounds fun and original.

Straker 11-06-2014 03:01 AM

What We Do in the Shadows will be a blast, I'm sure. Really looking forward to it.

Also looking forward to Chappie. I've been a huge fan of what those guys are doing over there in South Africa for a while now. And now we have Neill Blomkamp and Sharlto Copley teaming up with Die Antwoord its crazy exciting. Chappie is essentially looking like Short Circuit with a huge dose of their style and flavour. I was really disappointed with Elysium but I'm hoping this is going to be quality.

Also any of you guys who aren't familiar with Die Antwoord by now should definitely check out some of their music videos. Some really quality, visceral imagery. Aesthetically amazing.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014)
The Imitation Game (2014)
Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014)
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014)

Baron Von Marlon 11-10-2014 08:08 AM

-Dumb & Dumber To
-Hangar 10

-Iron Sky: The Coming Race
will be made if they find funding.
It'll be about the survivors of WW3 vs Hitler and his army of dinosaurs.

Thumb resize.

I have not heard of any of these movies but I love the titles!! Since you are a "gore" fan, have you seen No One Lives?

I will have to check out your list!

horcrux2007 12-05-2014 07:20 AM

Even though The Pyramid got bad reviews, it looks pretty interesting... might not be as bad as they say.

Yes! It wasn't bad. Luke Evans was great, a bit rushed and the storyline could of been a bit well better but all in all, yeah. : )

I'm more into indie/underground films. All those titles I listed were crowd funded/Indigogo or kickstarter in which I promoted and donated to.

If you want masterful gore, check out the films of Ron DeCaro and Brian Paulin.

: )

Back to The Pyramid, now I'm a lot less interested. I read that it was found footage, and, despite the fact that I like found footage movies, I don't want to see As Above/So Below 2: The Pyramid.

I take reviews with very little thought; otherwise, I never would have watched as many movies as I have through the years. Many movies have been given horrible reviews and there were ones that I loved!! As a die hard movie buff, I say "screw it" and watch the movies you want to see and pass your own point of view on it!! Even if people on this site give bad reviews but it's something I really want to see, I'm going to watch it and pass my opinion on it.

I don't get to the theaters much anymore because it cost too much but a lot of movies you mention on here, I would like to see. I have yet to see As Above So Below and it's on my Netflix dvd list. I will also watch The Pyramid when it comes to dvd.

Are they really the same though just because of Found Footage and being underground and the like? The plots seem different enough that it would be different movies. One's about a journey into Hell and the other's a monster movie. Seems like enough difference to me.

Well, you're right. Now that I think about it, it's a lot more like The Tunnel Movie. I guess I'm just over cave movies now that I've seen 4 of them.

Yeah I can see how you'd get burnt out. Horror seems to work like that sometimes. A mass production of the same type of horror movie

Alex Aja Clarifies That ‘The Pyramid’ Is Not Found-Footage

If you haven’t seen the trailer for FOX’s The Pyramid, you should. It looks like an absolute blast with references to films like The Descent and Indiana Jones.

One of the misconceptions is that it’s found-footage – it’s not. Aja reiterates this in the below featurette, which also features some new footage from the horror adventure in theaters December 5th.

Gregory Levasseur, who worked with Alexandre Aja on the screenplays for High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes and Maniac, directed the flick starring Ashley Hinshaw, Denis O’Hare, James Buckley and Daniel Amerman.

In Pyramid, “The ancient wonders of the world have long cursed explorers who’ve dared to uncover their secrets. But a team of U.S. archaeologists gets more than they bargained for when they discover a lost pyramid unlike any other in the Egyptian desert. As they unlock the horrific secrets buried within, they realize they aren’t just trapped, they are being hunted.”

Adding these to my original list:

Starry Eyes
The Canal
The Pyramid
Before I Go To Sleep
Extraterrestrial
Encounters
Coherence
Inner Demons
Friday the 13th

Gnome Alone/Legend
The guy who plays Mini-Me will play an evil Gnome.
Sounds like fun.

“When timid college student Zoe witnesses a hit-and-run, the dying victim gives her a strange amulet. Suddenly, all those who have offended Zoe in her life begin dying horrible deaths at the hands of a malicious gnome (Troyer). When Zoe discovers the horrible history behind the amulet, will she be able to harness its magical power before the gnome begins killing those closest to her?“

Don't get too excited about Extraterrestrial

Not on dvd yet. I usually like to wait for redbox, netflix, or a dvd. If it's super hard to find or been out for a few years without a release I'll download it.

Oh, you've seen it? What's it like? I like sci-fi horror and I've seen some good reviews so I've been wanting to see it.
