I completely agree-fantastic character and performance by the actor also for some reason the end of the film absolutely scares me shit out of me even now :)

Trying to think of some more series to add to the list. Critters is one that comes to mind. It's been forever since I watched that series.

Friday The 13th

Halloween

A Nightmare On Elm Street

Saw

Scream

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Alien

Predator

Phantasm

Evil Dead

Hellraiser

Child's Play

Final Destination

My favorites in each:

Friday The 13th - Jason Lives

Halloween - 1978 Original

A Nightmare On Elm Street - New Nightmare

Saw - Saw II

Scream - Original

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - 2003 Remake

Alien - Aliens

Predator - Predator 2

Phantasm - Phantasm II

Evil Dead - Evil Dead II

Hellraiser - Original

Child's Play - Original

Final Destination - Original

Wha? You actually liked Predator 2 more than the original? That's the first time I ever heard of somebody saying that, it was a good movie seeing on how I'm a predator fan, but I strongly preferred the Predator from and the protagnoists in the first movie more, than in the second.

But! I did really like the ending scene of Predator 2 when the lost tribe suddenly appeared before Danny Glover's character and the Elder Predator gave Danny's character an old 1700's style pirate pistol.

@Topic:

Friday the 13th - Part III (1982)
A Nightmare on Elm Street - Part 3: Dream Warriors (1987)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Remake (2003)
Halloween - Part 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988)
SCREAM - Part 1 (1997)
Hannibal Lecter series - The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
Evil Dead - Evil Dead II (1987)
Grindhouse Presents - Deathproof (2007)
Predator - Part 1 (1987)
Alien - Aliens (1986)

Jigsaw Killer 09-03-2012 04:39 PM

I'm one of the few who loves Predator 2 and more than the first. Don't get me wrong as I adore the original, but I enjoyed the sequel more for the city setting and how the Predator hunted in an urban environment. I also like the darker tone and the new weaponry, and it had great action setpiece like the slaughterhouse.

MichaelMyers 09-03-2012 04:44 PM

Well Seymore you will not like what I have to say. For I rank the Predator series in reverse chronology: Predators, Predator II, Predator.

Jigsaw Killer 09-04-2012 12:32 PM

I don't think it was suggested before, but I thought of The Omen and The Exorcist as additions to the list. Believe it or not, I've never seen a movie in either series.

The Omen-original but I like all three nearly equally.
The Exorcist 3 (there's a lot of hate for Exorcist 2-but for me Exorcist 3 is a lot scarier than the original)
Critters 2

Gh0st 09-11-2012 08:23 AM

Friday The 13th - Pt2. I dunno why, I've always thought that was best.

Halloween - H'ween 1 of course, It had that uneasy feeling about it, loved it.

A Nightmare On Elm Street - 1st or 3rd. Enjoyed them mostly.

Saw - Saw 1-3 were all good, but the 1st one for me.

Scream - Original all the way, one of my favorites of all time.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Original.

Alien - 'Aliens' was amazing and I actually prefered it over the original Alien(which was also amazing).

Predator - Strangly enough, 'Predator 2' I enjoyed more.

Phantasm - Nots seen it.

:)

Evil Dead

Hellraiser

Child's Play

Final Destination

Jigsaw Killer 09-14-2012 03:30 PM

I didn't know so many preferred Predator 2 to the original, I thought I was the only one. It's definitely underrated.

Jigsaw Killer 09-24-2012 04:49 PM

Would Tremors be a good addition? They're probably more along the lines of Comedic Sci-Fi but I think the series has a strong Horror aspect to it as well. I definitely like the first one the best in the series.

The first one was just too campy, I felt Predator 2 was a more balanced film.

Hmm I think I've seen three of these-did they make more? I'd say the original was my fave of the three I've seen.

Jigsaw Killer 09-24-2012 07:03 PM

Tremors has four movies, two sequels and one prequel (the fourth one).

Ah right-I've not seen this prequel-I really didn't like the third film at all so I don't know whether I should watch it.

Jigsaw Killer 09-24-2012 08:05 PM

I thought the fourth one was alright, better than 3. I'd give it a look.

That's good to here I'll check it out cheers

Jigsaw Killer 09-26-2012 12:52 AM

I wouldn't go into it with high expectations but I will say it's definitely not a bad movie.

Jigsaw Killer 09-26-2012 08:37 PM

I don't recall if it was suggested before but I was thinking many of the old Universal and Hammer Horror movies would be a good addition as there's so many of those that could be chosen from.

Now that is difficult.

Well for Hammer I would say Twins Of Evil or Plague Of The Zombies.

But when you say old universal what period exactly do you mean? The 30s?

Jigsaw Killer 09-28-2012 08:15 PM

I think the 30s-50s as a whole for Universal.

I'd need to see a list of them to choose cos I'm not sure what movies were made by Universal. For example my fave horror of that period is "I Walked With A Zombie" which was made by RKO pictures not Universal.

Jigsaw Killer 10-01-2012 07:54 PM

There's so many to choose from from that particular era.

Fearonsarms 10-02-2012 12:11 PM

OK I've seen a list of them and there's too many to choose from. I still can't decide to pick even two. I'll have to give it more thought.

Jigsaw Killer 10-02-2012 07:50 PM

It's been ages since I last watched any, I need to see them all again, someday.

Jigsaw Killer 10-05-2012 07:52 PM

I also remembered the Stepfather series, four movies including a remake. Might be a good addition. I've only ever seen the third one.

Fearonsarms 10-17-2012 03:44 PM

I've only seen the first stepfather didn't realise there was a third or even a fourth wow-How about the Wishmaster series? The first two are pretty stellar for me :) Couldn't stand the fourth (Wishmaster falling in love it should be called as the prophecy isn't fulfilled at all) what a way to kill the series.

JudgeU 10-18-2012 08:27 PM

Friday The 13th (remake) - it's been a loooong time since I've seen the originals so I just went with the remake.

Halloween - original

A Nightmare On Elm Street - original

Saw - original

Scream - original

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - haven't seen them

Alien - one and two are equal in my mind. Both Superb.

Predator - original

Phantasm - haven't seen them

Evil Dead - army of darkness

Hellraiser - Hellraiser: Inferno, this is actually one of my favorite horrors. It's one of horrors version of a film noir (the other being Angel Heart).

Child's Play - hate all of them

Final Destination - 3

Jigsaw Killer 10-30-2012 11:52 PM

Phantasm is a great series to get into, definitely seek it out :)

Fearonsarms 11-01-2012 08:42 PM

I'll give a big up to House 3. It was the one played as straight horror without the normal humour in the other three films. And Lance Henriksen was awesome in it.

Jigsaw Killer 11-02-2012 05:06 PM

I think I've seen all of the House films but only really remember the original.

If you liked the first film you would definitely like the second if you wanna give it another watch. I really liked the different direction the third film took but not everyone would. The fourth film was a bit weird I can only vaguely remember it.

I agree, The Horror Show(1989) is a very good flick.

Jigsaw Killer 12-10-2012 05:07 PM

I think I may have seen some bits of the third and fourth movie, they seem familiar.

Really? Even Halloween 2?

Jigsaw Killer 01-15-2013 01:18 AM

Some very good additions I see added, didn't think of many of those.

Jigsaw Killer 01-25-2013 10:01 AM

Forgot about the Hannibal Lecter series. I've seen all but Red Dragon and Hannibal Rising, but The Silence Of The Lambs is easily my favorite of the ones I've seen.
