That's actually the second episode....

I was wrong about that Roshiq- sorry, it was the 1st episode of the 2nd season.

As for this latest episode- I had my first serious WTF moment since the whole series started this Sunday.

***SPOILER***

Seriously- lowering a guy into a well was your best plan to get the zombie out? Seriously?

ChronoGrl 11-08-2011 06:34 AM

BAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - Totally agree with you on that one - Same reaction from us as well.

newb 11-08-2011 10:11 AM

I'm 2 shows behind at the moment.

maybe will catch up tonight

Frogbros_soldier 11-09-2011 08:47 PM

I will admit I just started with the 2nd season. I am slowly watching the 1st season on DVD as I just purchased. I will admit I am not to wild about Shane still being alive but the writers are doing a fantastic job with keeping him around so I can overshadow that.

Right now I love it but I am getting a bit annoyed on how they are dragging the Sophia issue to be honest.

Anthropophagus 11-17-2011 10:50 AM

Ok,i`m now in either the fourth or fifth episode of series two and i have to be honest its a big disappointment.

The folk have been stuck on that highway for far too long, the missing girl is still................missing,the shot boy is still recovering and where are the zombies, hardly to be seen.the last episode i saw was the one with a zombie in the well, that was it,they lifted it out and it fell back in,another week gone by.

I know all the business about character development but good god i could watch the Waltons if i wanted that.
Give us some zombie action or i will just ignore it in the future.

Elvis_Christ 11-20-2011 06:33 PM

With all the bonehead shit these people keep pulling they will all be dead by the end of the season.

Much like the stupid decisions of the characters.......I mean c'mon....I live in the smallest state in the U.S. and I can think of at least 2 RV dealers. GET A NEW FUCKING CAMPER.....and while you're at it....maybe a pickup truck to haul all that water ...or hell...just take the water truck.

LMAO!!! :D I think the same way.....they should have great vehicles, all they have to do is find a dealership and pick one out. They can't all be overrun with zombies for fucks sake!

Couldn't agree more.

Honestly, I'm all for character development - I actually like it in my horror, too... But I find these characters INSIPID AND BORING.

Not gonna lie - I wouldn't shed single a tear if Laurie and Carl suddenly disappeared - It wouldn't even have to make sense to the plot. They could just NOT SHOW UP in the next episode and I would be fine with it. Can't stand either of them... Then again, I found them both two-dimensional and annoying in the comic, too, but one would think that with the third dimension of TV the writers would have made a decision to make them LESS WHINY AND ANNOYING! AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH

Yes, that too. Ugh.

scareme 11-22-2011 12:46 AM

season 2 is not as good as season 1 was but still its good. There are few tweaks needed to made it more interesting.

Anthropophagus 11-22-2011 10:41 AM

The only real character i like is Daryl,at least he doesn't fuck about and gets things done.Go the rednecks.:D

Elvis_Christ 11-25-2011 08:50 PM

Yeah Daryl is a good dude. He's the character I like the most. It's weird I didn't mind most of the characters in the first season but this time round I'm really growing to hate a lot of them and can see why people dislike them.

That's how I feel it would be in a group of people who are mostly strangers. You start out fine, everybody gets along, but then aspects of everybody's personality start to come out that rub each other the wrong way.

Anthropophagus 11-27-2011 06:43 AM

I wish they could let their anger out on some zombies though instead of just bickering with each other, this is a zombie show after all so lets see some goddamn zombies and not give us another episode of Little House on the Prairie.

TheWickerFan 11-29-2011 02:48 AM

I enjoyed this last episode, but I have to say this season is really dragging. I think the loss of Frank Darabont and the writers might have done the series in. It's not the lack of zombie action that bothers me; it's the incredibly slow pace and the majority of the characters becoming increasingly irritating.

roshiq 11-29-2011 06:18 AM

I haven't read the original comic book series, so have no idea about how close it's been so far to its original source material but yeah...it's like rotating in one place for the last couple of episodes; nothing much happening. Hope 'things' will get 'better' soon.

Anthropophagus 11-29-2011 09:33 AM

I am sick to death of the farm now.I am sick of them searching for the little girl only to find nothing, either she is still alive or she is dead but finish the god damn story angle and move on.

I considered buying the first series but i will definitely not be buying this second one.I don't look forward to it like i did the first,in fact it is becoming a bit of a chore.

neverending 11-29-2011 10:49 AM

You obviously haven't seen the last episode...

ChronoGrl 11-29-2011 11:32 AM

Yeah, I was pretty psyched - Something actually happened.

Elvis_Christ 11-29-2011 02:38 PM

Heard it was a goodie. Will be checking it out tonight.

Elvis_Christ 11-30-2011 08:37 PM

Great episode. Felt a bit bummed out at the end.

What's up with the mid season break? Sucks we have to wait till February.

Anthropophagus 12-06-2011 11:27 AM

I liked this episode but only for the last ten minutes, before that it was the same old same old.

The Villain 01-12-2012 03:46 PM

Finally got caught up.

I loved the ending. Can't wait for it to start back up again.

Oh and Shane's a fucking psycho.

I like how he lives throughout a lot of the duration of the television series, my girl friend HATES Shane with a passion.

Anthropophagus 02-05-2012 09:01 AM

Part two of the second half of the season starts in a week or two,i can only hope it is better than the first half which was very disappointing indeed.

FreddyMyers 02-14-2012 11:30 AM

Anybody see the Mid-season premire. (I guess thats what you call it)

Didnt think it was overly good or bad either way. Shane continuing his downward spiral.

Any thoughts...........

hammerfan 02-14-2012 12:27 PM

It's funny that you brought it up - I just watched it on AMC's website.

I really don't like the direction they're taking Shane. Although the scene with Carol - when he was washing her off - was kind of touching. I was shocked at what happened to Laurie (trying not to give anything away here) and at what Rick did at the end. In all, not a bad episode, but it didn't blow me away, either.

Hey, did you see that some of the actors from The Walking Dead are going to be at the MonsterCon in Cherry Hill?

neverending 02-16-2012 04:44 PM

Well, I liked this episode, though I've enjoyed most of them. I've never read the comics, so I can't complain about this change or that change, and I still like that it's different from every other zombie movie or show before... I like the emphasis on drama. I'll admit that at times the drama is a bit forced, but generally it comes off as true for me.

I'm not going to whine about what it could be or should be, I'll take it for what it is... and I like what it is.

Agreed!

Going to watch the new episode tonight. Been looking forward to it.

Blood Curdle 02-17-2012 12:25 PM

I wish people would stop saying they want more zombies and less stories.

Too many zombies and it becomes boring. We need intrigue, lies and deceit.

Exactly...hey have to sustain a series, not just a movie...for this to happen there needs to be more depth than wave after wave of zombie attacks.
Also as someone that's followed the comics, I can tell you that the zombies are not the only threat to expect.
Because of elements like this, the comic has survived into it's 93rd issue so far...if it were just about a prolonged zombie attack it would not be running any more. There are some truly excellent characters and some terrible situations to come yet.
It's a post-apocalyptic drama set in a world over-run by zombies...I mean if you lived in this situation, wouldn't you attempt to avoid them too, and take yourself away from constant danger?

I have heard that while he wasn't actually in the comic, Daryl has become popular among viewers of the show, so much so that Kirkman has plans to introduce his character to the comic as well.

Elvis_Christ 02-17-2012 08:16 PM

Daryl's rad. Definitely my favourite character and his development as a character has been more interesting than the rest of the group.

-------

Enjoyed the last episode and thought it was really good. I dug how it concentrated on the danger of other people rather than the zombies. The show has become quite a good post-apocalyptic styled tale. I honestly don't get the complaints for this show especially when rubbish like The River is gracing the screen atm.

TheWickerFan 02-18-2012 01:36 AM

I don't need constant zombie attacks, but the characters need to at least be somewhat in peril. The show has slowed to a crawl since they arrived at that farmhouse, and I'm really hoping they will move on. Also, the majority of the characters are becoming annoying to the point that I really wouldn't care if they died.

cheebacheeba 02-18-2012 02:01 AM

They kind of are in peril...they know what's "out there" and they've faced the constant possibility of being kicked back out, having members of their own (and now the other) party at eachothers throats to the point that there WILL be violence, or the having to make the choice to become killers simply to secure a place/places for their own.
I get that it's a fairly slow burn not always high on action, but it's more about the emotional turmoil at the moment, of living among strangers in a pretty diverse group with hugely differing ideologies.
The volatility of human nature, the cause and effect that can make a rational person go into a very dark place, and the constant knowledge that even though they might not be right on the attack all the time, zombies are there and any decision even on where to sleep could be their last - I think the idea is, we're meant to be contemplative of the kind've tension that would arise in a situation like this...and yes, things WILL boil over...
The show isn't called "The Walking Dead" on account of the zombies.

I garauntee, anyone that sticks with this show will not be disappointed - and how the Shane situation comes to a head WILL leave you in shock and awe.

SO much good stuff to come, so many rich characters yet to be introduced and properly explored...this will serve zombie horde fans and character study fans alike very well.
It's all well worth the build-up.

I mean c'mon folks, even without zombies, it's hardly the most boring show out there.
I think expectations are the only thing setting a lot of people back.

TheWickerFan 02-18-2012 02:13 AM

I'll stick it out. I haven't read the original stories, so I have no clue what's to come.

Anthropophagus 02-18-2012 07:41 AM

I will stick with it just for completion but it seriously needs to pick up,the first half of this second series has been woeful.

I like The River. It's supposed to be a short run show too so I hope we get some closure and not a cliffhanger ending.

I look forward to The Walking Dead every week. It's a human nature show. But I think all of the best zombie movies are like that. I'm was surprised that Rick didn't shoot Shane during the barn incident. It's at the point where things will come to blows.

Also, the knowledge that zombies are out there is still very scary. I'm sure that farm is not safe. I can't believe the zombies didn't show up after all the shooting at the barn. But there is that swamp that they get stuck in. Maybe the whole farm area is protected somehow.

TheWickerFan 02-20-2012 03:19 PM

This week's episode was a huge improvement over the last one. Things are picking up.

Anthropophagus 02-22-2012 10:28 AM

Yes,the first episode of the second half of this series was better, but wasnt that the same as the first episode, then they found the farm and it all went down hill fast.I can only hope they leave that damn barn and find somewhere else to do all their bickering.
