Johhny Storm - The Human Torch.
Apparently...for now... Still, the last two issues, wow, emotional stuff there. Least he went out heroically. |
Jane Russell, the busty brunette who shot to fame as the sexy star of Howard Hughes' 1941 Western "The Outlaw," died Monday of respiratory failure, her family said. She was 89.
Although Russell largely retired from Hollywood after her final film, 1970's "Darker Than Amber," she had remained active in her church, with charitable organizations and with a local singing group until her health began to decline just a couple weeks ago, said her daughter-in-law, Etta Waterfield. She died at her home in Santa Maria. http://www3.timeoutny.com/newyork/th.../04/outlaw.jpg |

Tony Award winner Michael Gough has died, according to published reports. He was 94. He received a Tony Award for his performance in Bedroom Farce and a Tony nomination for Breaking the Code. His other appearances on Broadway include Compulsion and The Fighting Cock. The actor is perhaps best known for playing the butler Alfred in Tim Burton's Batman, a role which he reprised in Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. Among his other screen credits are Burton's Corpse Bride, Sleepy Hollow, and Alice In Wonderland, as well as The Boys From Brazil, Out of Africa, The Fourth Protocol, The Serpent and the Rainbow, and The Age of Innocence. He is survived by his fourth wife Henrietta and two children from previous marriages. |
He brought a great presence in supporting roles in films too many to list, but I remember him in many genre films in the 50s-70s like Trog, The Horror of Dracula, Hammer's Phantom of the Opera, Dr. Terror's House of Horrors, Black Zoo, Horrors of the Black Museum, The Skull and They Came From Beyons Space.
RIP. |

fond recollection of seeing this at the drive-in when I was but a wee lad of 12. |
Michael Gough played so many memorable characters, and is already missed.

such a sad loss, RIP Elisabeth.
|
I'm already missing Elisabeth Sladen. She was the first Doctor's companion that I saw growing up, and she made a great impression. I'm very sad about this.
|
What actually happened to Elisabeth Sladen? I was gobsmacked when I saw the dedication to her on the new episode of Doctor Who.

William Campbell, a veteran TV actor who starred in television series from "Gunsmoke to "Star Trek" to "Perry Mason," and was married to President John F. Kennedy paramour Judith Campbell Exner, has died of natural causes.
He was 87. Campbell died Friday at the Motion Picture & Television Fund's hospital in the San Fernando Valley, according to media reports. Campbell worked steadily through the 1960s and 1970s in a long line of television series. He had film roles in the 1950s, such as "Man in the Vault," with Anita Ekberg, and also appeared in 'Dementia: 13," Francis Ford Coppola's early horror film. Campbell met JFK's lover Judith Exner, then Judith Immoor, in 1952 at a party when she belonged to "the young Hollywood set," according to the Los Angeles Times. They married that year and divorced in 1958. She died in 1999. Campbell is survived by his wife, Tereza, whom he married in 1963. |
Bummer. RIP Trelane!:(

It was a week ago now but John Sullivan, writer of Only Fools and Horses and (according to Wikipedia) some sketches for The Two Ronnies died.

Oh my goodness, that's one of the most bizarre and depressing deaths I have read on here. That's so sad that someone so amazing would die alone like that. :(
|
Geezbus...
Many famous Indian actresses of the 50s, 60s and 70s have died alone with no one coming forward to even claim their bodies, and finally the police had to complete their last rites. But I have never heard of or seen such a tragic end. Poor woman! :( R.I.P. |
She was dead for a YEAR before anyone noticed?! That is truly horrible.
|
My word...didn't she have any family? The poor woman was once a star and then THAT happens. Some people don't fear death, but I think most at least want to be missed.

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_MpuD1qPb1B...oyal_shirt.jpg http://hollywoodshow.com/store/media...ooper_1203.jpg 'Superman' Actor Jackie Cooper -- Dead At 88 5/4/2011 1:41 PM PDT Academy Award nominated actor Jackie Cooper has died. Cooper -- who was nominated for an Oscar when he was 9-years-old -- passed away yesterday at a hospital in Beverly Hills after a sudden bout with illness. Cooper was a highly respected director in his adult years -- winning Emmy awards for his work on "M*A*S*H*" and "The White Shadow." Cooper famously played the role of The Daily Planet newspaper editor Perry White in the 1978 "Superman" film. In addition to his long acting career, Cooper was also a decorated WWII vet, who served with the Navy in the South Pacific. He will be missed. |
His role in The Champ was one of the greatest child performances ever. A terrible loss.
|
I believe Jackie Cooper was one of the very few remaining Little Rascals actors, and one of the best remembered of all of them.

And the Hollywood death toll continues to mount its way throughout the year 2011 as yet another golden age actress has been taken from us, leaving behind one hell of a horror memory! According to the LA Times Dana Wynter, who was best known by fans as Becky Driscoll in the classic 1956 film Invasion of the Body Snatchers, died Thursday of congestive heart failure at Ojai Valley Community Hospital's Continuing Care Center, said her son, Mark Bautzer. She was 79. Though she graced our genre only a few times, she, just like the film itself, had an impact on generations of filmmakers to come. We would like to take this time to offer Dana's many friends, family members, and constituents our sincerest of condolences. Thanks for the memories, Dana. We're sure that somewhere right now both you and Kevin McCarthy are running through the clouds. |
Damn...........

Pro Wrestler Randy 'Macho Man' Savage Dies in Car Accident
Pro wrestling superstar Randy "Macho Man" Savage died after having a heart attack while driving his Jeep Wrangler, Fox News confirms. The accident happened in Seminole, Fla. A source tells Fox News that he "suffered a heart attack while driving and hit a tree." Lanny Poffo, Randy's brother, told TMZ the accident happened Friday morning when Savage lost control of his vehicle. Florida Highway Patrol said Savage leapt a concrete median, veered into oncoming traffic and smashed into a tree head on. He died from his injuries at largo Medical Center. Savage, 58, had just celebrated his first wedding anniversary with his wife Lynn. It was his second marriage. His first wife died of a drug overdose shortly after their divorce in 1992. Professional wrestler Kevin Nash tweeted: "I lost a close friend today. If anybody in heaven is wondering who the cat in the ugly cowboy hat is it's Randy. Love you Bro. Never another." Savage helped put WWF wrestling on the map in the 1980s and '90s, becoming, along with Hulk Hogan, one of its biggest draws. His outrageous outfits and bellowing voice made him a fan favorite. A really sad day for all wrestling fans, new and old. I remember watching him in my growing years, and part of my old passion for the WWF came from him, Hogan, Bret Hart, Diesel, Shawn Michaels, etc. R.I.P. Randy Savage. |
