haha

who was there from HDC

ChronoGrl 06-03-2010 09:53 AM

OK - I cooled off a bit.

I had a blast last night - And I really liked the discussion at the end about Atheism vs. Christianity vs. "Moral" Guilt... Really cool. I think I might start a thread so that we can continue it...

I'll definitely be there next week (hopefully on time!). Newb! I hope you can make it too!!!

Yeah, precisely.

So here is where I bring up an idea and see what everyone thinks.

Next Wednesday, This Night I'll Possess Your Corpse at 9EST. I would like to have everyone attend. Before I start the movie, I will show everyone how to close the chat or make the movie full screen. Movie plays, people can chat about whatever the hell they want, MST3K style, on topic or otherwise. Once the movie ends I'll post a thread in the Classic Horror section (I think, because it says pre 1960 but Modern is post 1970), and that is where we will have ONLY on topic conversation, discussion, facts, trivia etc.

Does this sound good?

Pffft - It's only like 2AM your time... ;)

_____V_____ 06-03-2010 11:16 AM

Very nice. And great to hear that Urge was there. Wish he would pop into HDC again...

I would love this I know but...the time difference will make it impossible. 9 PM EST is like 6 30 AM in the morning for me. I usually wake up at 6 AM to do my cycling for an hour and half, and sitting in front of the computer watching a Coffin Joe film so early in the morning and deviating from my morning schedule would freak my family out.

Wish there was a night slot...sounds like a real blast but oh well. :\

newb 06-03-2010 11:27 AM

hmmm....somebody took a butcher knife to this thread

and I don't know why

Well, you could cycle AND watch the streaming horror movie... ;) (imagines V balancing laptop on handlebars)

NE did. He asked MM and I if it was OK that he removed the bickering comments between the three of us and we said Yes. He didn't want it to scare anyone away from checking it out next week and so on. I'm OK with that. We all apologized and made up.

ChronoGrl 06-08-2010 02:15 PM

Sooooooooooo...

Same time tomorrow?

Who's in???

missmacabre 06-09-2010 09:15 AM

Yep, tonight at 9 EST.

Bleah - Now I'm not sure I can make it. I have some kind of stomach flu and will most likely be crashing soon. Will try, but I'm totally bummed. :(

well come for a little bit if you can. I was considering cancelling for tonight because I'm sick too. Stoopid weather. But it's still on.

missmacabre 06-09-2010 05:19 PM

So since people ant make it tonight and my movie isn't working I am playing The Terror with Jack Nicholson and Bela Lugosi in stead. www.livestream.com/missmacabre

neverending 06-09-2010 05:57 PM

You mean of course, Nicholson & Karloff.

Marley's Ghost 06-09-2010 06:56 PM

Sat down with a snack
And a cold glass of tea
Waiting for Miss M
To surely entertain me

But where was Coffin Joe
Where was that creepy fella
Instead we got Young Jack
And the other guy, Bela

It turned out just fine
Even with a codec error
Because I finally got to see
a jumpy copy of THE TERROR

ChronoGrl 06-10-2010 04:31 AM

Sorry your sick too - How are you feeling? I feel like death and I'm taking a sick day today. bleah.

How did last night's showing go? We doing Coffin Joe next Wednesday?

Assuming I figure out what's wrong, yeah. I have no audio but the other movies are all fine. I would download a different copy but there was only one on the entire internet as far as I know.

newb 06-11-2010 05:27 AM

Missed another one

damn it

ChronoGrl 06-14-2010 10:23 AM

Can you make it THIS Wednesday, Newb? I will do my best! (i.e. unless I get sick again and wind up crashing at 8, I will be there :D)

missmacabre 06-14-2010 01:28 PM

This week is still on. However, even with a new codec This Night has no audio and that was the only copy available for download anywhere. So we will be skipping ahead to The Strange World of Coffin Joe.

You're a day early.

_____V_____ 06-16-2010 05:19 AM

Just finished setting up a livestream account myself.

http://www.livestream.com/ravenavi

Its testing ok so far, video streaming at 11-12 fps which is pretty decent. My DSL can be a bit slow at times so some of you with faster connections might have slight buffering issues. Codecs are working fine.

I ll see about setting up some screenings (by demand) over the weekend noons/nights, if I can. Give me a holler if you are interested, and what you would be interested in viewing with me.

Oh, yay!!

I'll DEFINITELY be interested!! My weekend availability varies, but I'll make showings if I'm around.

I'm trying to think of some of the movies that you've recommended that I haven't seen yet (there's a TON)...

Will keep you posted in the next couple days.

_____V_____ 06-16-2010 05:33 AM

Guess it doesn't matter. See you tonight! haha.

missmacabre 06-16-2010 09:59 AM

V I could have just made you a mod on my channel :P. Noon Saturdays sounds like a good time for movies. I'm excited.

ANywayy thinking of uploading some stuff to mine for on demand viewing. Mostly tv shows but I am a little scared of having it shut down for copyright issues so idk if I will do that yet.

missmacabre 06-16-2010 04:06 PM

Sorry guys but I'm cancelling this for tonight. I have a cover letter to write for a very important job opportunity. Need to be in tonight and writing about myself is hard enough without the pressure of time limits. Will make it up to you sometime later this week if you want. Sorry again and wish me luck with getting an interview!

The_Return 06-16-2010 04:30 PM

Best of luck, covers letters are a bitch. I'm sure yours will go over great though - what's the job?

Apple technician. Pays so well, covers your public transportation and you can apply for car pooling. They will pay $2000/year for you to take extra hardware classes and stuff, health benefits are pretty good. Always promoting people. You start as a tier 1 support, and after 3 months get to tier 2. Then you can either be a manager, harware tech or get upped to Iapps support. So they just promoted people who have both hardware and Iapps experience to Ipad support and are hiring 75 new people for tier 1 over the next three weeks. Basically promoted the whole building. :D

So my bf was hired in the first round and I don't have a drivers license so I have been looking for jobs in town and finding nothing. But since this pays for transportation and we can car-pool I really hope I can get in.
