And now, a brief intro about Battle Royale II to all the new contestants...

You have to out-smart, out-think, out-strategise, and out-live all the other contestants till the end to win. Think of this as a survival FPS game - starting off as a team, and then going solo...if you have a good, solid strategy and luck is in favor too, you just might go the distance.

Like last year, nobody thought in their wildest dreams that Psycom5K would make it into the final 5. But he did.

There will be Challenges ahead, and for all the right answers you give, you win health packs. These help in healing your wounds if you wind up at the receiving end of a Battle Royale Zone hunt. Every 5 points wins you 1 Health Pack.

But this time, you will have a Stamina meter to keep an eye on, too.

It is a team event for the first part of the program, and once we get to the final 10, it will be solo. Then it will be everyone responsible for themselves only.

And about the hunt? You will see.


Teams and The First Challenge of Battle Royale II will be up tomorrow morning.

I'm tempted to agree with Posh...but __V__ knows what he's doing. If he's planning on starting it without all the competitors, he must either have a reason for it, or a plan to fix up any confusuion it might cause.

IT announced that registration will be open till the end of the first Challenge. And with 21 confirmed contestants, it makes sense to tee off as soon as IT declared BR II open. Depending upon later registrations and submission of entries, this can be adjusted according to the deadline (like the last time).

And, in all fairness, I dont think anyone else - is either interested/ doesnt have the time - to be a part of BR II this year.

But, just to be sure, I ll postpone the posting of the First Challenge till Midnight EST tonight. Let's hope (and I pray) we have some more registrations till then.

You have a van? Well, what's the problem then? :p My work has been insane too, but I've decided it's more important to try to find a balance and enjoy life a little bit more. That and I'm a contractor, my contract is up again at the the end of this month and as of today, they still will not tell me if it's gonna get extended again or not, and my manager said he may or may not be able to tell me this week. Well, we're getting pretty damn close to the end of the month, so I'm just going to have to assume that it won't be and plan for that. Fuck them, I can still buy carrots, I don't need those MFers to dangle one in front of my face and expect me to dance for it.

ANNOUNCEMENT


Just to refresh your memories and clear this for the new contestants...

1 bullet - Slightly Wounded,
2 bullets - Wounded,
3 bullets - Severely Wounded,
and
4 bullets - Dead and OUT of Battle Royale II.

Each Health Pack earned has the capability of healing 1 wound.

Which means, if you are severely wounded, you will need 3 Health Packs (which will be referred to as HPs) to get fully FIT again. If wounded, 2 Health Packs...and so on.

For every 5 points scored in a Challenge, you win a Health Pack.

Bonus Health Packs can be won in special Bonus Rounds or through several surprise concealments all around in the Battle Royale II island. If you chance across a stash, its yours for keeping.

Also, you can gift your HPs to a fellow team member during a Hunt if you feel he/she will be targetted by the opposition. Be careful though, you might run out of them when YOU need them the most.

(Dante was the victim of that last year...he gifted more than half of his HPs to Urge and didnt have enough to survive when he was targetted)

This time around, you will have an extra STAMINA meter to keep an eye on, too.

Each warrior will start with a Stamina Meter of 10, which will keep decreasing by 1 every time a warrior gets Severely Wounded (even after they get fully Fit by using 3 HPs). Once a Stamina Meter reaches 0 and you get shot 4 times, even infinite Health Packs wont be able to save you.

And now for the ones who love their knives, daggers and swords...

Hidden weapons are an extra asset for you this time around in Battle Royale II. Each hidden weapon - knife, dagger, short sword or mini-pistol - will have limited potential but can be extremely effective when you need to dispatch off someone you think is potentially dangerous as your enemy.


For knives, daggers or short swords

All of them will be sawed across the blade to the point that they can be used only FOUR times, before their blades break off from the hilts.

You may use them before, during or after a Challenge (on a fellow member or on someone from the opposition), and each stab will count as a Stab Wound (equivalent in damage to a Bullet Wound).

However, you can use them only ONCE per Challenge. That means, only one stab per wielding warrior. The blades have retracting timer springs attached to them which will pull it back into the hilt once a stab is done, and they wont come out till THAT particular Challenge is over.


For mini-pistols

All mini-pistols have attached silencers with them and will carry 4 bullets each, only. The chambers are rigged in such a way that they will automatically get locked once they have been fired ONCE. The unlocking is also automatic - it will be enabled once THAT particular Challenge is over.


Of course, you need to win them first.

I welcome all 3 groups - Team Grindhouse, Ace Assassins and Killer's Nightmares - to your first ever Battle Royale II Challenge.

Before that, let me remind you that EACH ONE of you now carries a bullseye on your back...from now on, your survival in Battle Royale II solely depends upon how you fare as a team (in the beginning), and as an individual (in the later stages).

Knowledge is not the only weapon which will see you pass these challenges...it will be a test of your integrity, character and stamina as a HDC-ian and as a fierce individual competitor.

So, onwards we go...right into THE FIRST BATTLE ROYALE CHALLENGE :-



"Name 20 horror movies which have been made in 3D - either filmed (partially or wholly) OR released as 3D OR re-released as 3D."



There are 600 points up for grabs in the above challenge. Unique correct answers in your entry may win you a very special SECRET PRIZE!

The deadline for sending your entries ends on Friday, 20th March at 12 Noon EST.

You may either send me your entries via PMs, or you may email me at [email protected], mentioning your HDC Nick in the Subject alongwith the Challenge number, for e.g., "__V__ - HDC Battle Royale II Challenge #1 Answers."

You may confer within members of your own team in your quest for the right answers, but each Battle Royale participant should send in their own individual entries.

Remember, team spirit is a surefire winner in this Challenge.

OK, I'm maybe just being a dumb-ass here, but in our responses, do we have to have all 20, or do we each come with some, so as a team we have all 20?

You peeps have fun with this. It was a blast last year. Like V said, the economy has taken its toll on my work....many lay-offs and I'm just hanging in by the skin of my teeth. Wouldn't want to get caught on the computer so I have to do anything to look busy.

I will be keeping tabs on this at night and rooting for my favorites.

If you read the whole post you would have realised...


600 points = 200 points per team.

Each team = 10 contestants, which makes 20 points per contestant.

Ergo 20 answers per entry from each contestant. 1 point per correct answer.


If there are no further registrations till the end of the First Challenge, I will choose a random Team Grindhouse member to sit this Challenge out.


The Penalty for failing Challenge #1 will be posted within the next 12 hours.

I say you can still fit this into your work schedule, with extended deadlines for Challenges and the Hunts.

Of course, if Urge had tossed his hat in, you would be here in a jiffy too. :(
