netflix has it. get it from them and say it got lost in mail. haha

zwoti 03-02-2005 10:30 PM

the director says he came up with the idea ater being in a police station when the police questioned a rape victim......apparently they were more interested in finding out what she was doing/wearing rather than what happened to her

IDrinkYourBlood 03-03-2005 08:34 PM

The secound greatest exploitation film after this masterpiece has to be Night Train Murders.

Reminds me of The Accused (Jodie Foster)

They have a nasty habit of putting the victim on trial in this country because offenders have rights.

Commit a crime, you have rights. Be the victim of a crime, they go right out the window in favor of making sure they dont hurt the guy who commited the crime.

i'm pretty sure only a very small % of rape victims ever report it.
It takes a strong woman willing to be victimized a second time - in the court.

must be a treat being called a 'slut who's asking for it' in front of a room full of people because you wore a short skirt that day.

Vodstok 03-04-2005 05:02 AM

I had to go make a statement at a police station one day because i was over a freind's place the weekend before and his genius room mate got accused of raping one of the girls wer were hanging out with.

Did he say he didnt do it?

Nope. He said "My word against hers".

No charges were ever filed against him. i hope he is fucking dead now. The situation bother me to this day, because i put in the report (on tape, in a room with a cop) exactly what i knew happened, which was nothing. i was gone long before anythign happened. The guy who did it. (His name was Bill Matthews by the way. he lived in NH has red hair. He is an evil fuck and i dont care who gets his information from the web) is a fucking scumbag, but i couldnt lie to try and put him away, because no one who didnt do that deserves to get labeled a rpaist if they arent, but part of me wishes i had because i would be money he did, and he was an awful human being to begin with.

A good friend of mine was the victim of "date rape" last year. No matter how many times I talked to her she refused to report it. She somehow feels that part of it was her fault because she gave the guy a hug at one point during the date.

Vodstok 03-04-2005 05:25 AM

That is insane. An unnamed person very close to me was drugged and raped by 2 guys and never reported it. I cant believe the amount of guilt the victims feel. It's ridiculous, but i cant comprehend how that kind of trauma can fuck with someone.

I'm am so thankful i was born male and had a good childhood. And if i ever get those guy's names, i will destroy their lives.

Do you wanna hear somthing really weird. About two years ao there i was watching kids TV (student) the programme had two families and each kid of the family had to guess the other members occupation or something. Anyway the presenter said "this women worked the hollywood blockbuster I spit on your grave." So in the end the kid guessed it was the others aunty and this women went on to explain the movie on kids tv. I just remember it coz i just saw the movie but obviousley the producers of the show didnt.
The sequel is called Ispit on your grave two: savage justice. and is as bad as the get

how did she explain it to kids?

Creighton Duke 03-04-2005 12:11 PM

I cant remember exactly word for word but quite a bit as it made me laugh. She said it was a film that didnt do all that well but was about how a young woman took revenge on a bunch a guys who ruin her vacation. She didnt mention anything about the anal rape or extreme circumsision. But what me laugh even more was the presenter saying something stupid like "we'll have to keep our eyes open for that one viewers it sounds a riot." I can just see it the weekend after in the movie store, "Mommy can we get this one it was on TV"

Vodstok 03-04-2005 12:25 PM

Did they actually callit a blockbuster, or are you just embellishing?

I'm gonna make a "wild" guess and say he's embellishing a lil' bit.

Creighton Duke 03-04-2005 12:40 PM

the presenter said hollywood blockbuster, trust me cuz i laughed too. but the women corrected him. im really curious to what she did now actually.

Well you should, despite that (or maybe because) this has nothing to do with Zarchi's film except for the derived title.

Eric Stanze's films released under the Sub Rosa Extreme label are very interesting - I Spit on Your Corpse, I Piss on Your Grave is rather more gratuitous and outright exploitive than his earlier, awesome, Scrapbook, but there's plenty to keep you occupied here including shit-eating and a startling genuine broom-handle-masturbation scene.

Star Emily Haack looks as hard as nails.

The broom handle scene is great, and she is very good. But the film is almost ruined by awful (and I mean AWFUL) padding to make it to feature length (something the director was forced to do).
Endless shots of trees and sky and walls and ground.
And the shit in the shit eating looks nothing like shit at all which takes away from the sequence.

EXTR3MIST 03-05-2005 10:30 AM

The film still comes up short in terms of running time, so perhaps without the padding this would have been better released as a "mid" duration film - say 45-55 minutes.

I remember the "shit" appeared rather chocolate pudding-ish, which indeed dampened the revulsion one should experience with such scenes - try watching Pink Flamingos for how it's really done!

The interviews and snippets in the DVD extras are interesting (the "dumpster" incident tells how the crew had to explain away various suspect gore props to the authorities).

orangestar 03-05-2005 12:08 PM

I heard a ton about this movie when I first started coming here, so I bought it (on VHS) before ever seeing it.

I consider it very good and very bad at the same time. It was already mentioned that the small details make it almost intellectual, but not enough for me. I've only watched it once, but Im actually going to go watch it again right now to get a better perspective on it.

feral cat 03-06-2005 07:49 AM

A classic piece of exploitation, cheesy and nasty at the same time … The extended rape scene can get a bit much and is a little dodgy in that it plays a little as voyeurism, but still not enough to be deliberatly erotic in my opinion, just questionable. I guess it depends on the type of individual watching … you really start to think for god sake leave her alone. The bath scene always makes me wince for some reason the line about not being able to stop the bleeding gets me every time.

Has anyone had a chance to see any of the
Angel Guts series yet?

LMM 03-07-2005 03:42 AM

I misguidedly bought this in a HEAVILY cut UK version - from HMV of all places - anyhoo, saw it, was disgruntled at the horrendous editting and tried to sell it on ebay.

The item was reported almost immediatley and ebay withdrew the auction, I appealed to them that it was a commercially available release from a high st store with a BBFC certificate but they still refused to let me list it (even tho they have the title in their quick listy thing which gives a synopsis and a cover shot - apparently this sources from ebay.com and doesnt relate to UK sales).

V annoyed, but will source from the US.

EXTR3MIST 03-08-2005 07:54 AM

Just don't tell Customs.

Or do... damn it, which way round gets you a lesser fine/prison sentence/dawn raid again?

LMM 03-09-2005 08:18 AM

Hehehe, I'm a cop....

With a rep round the station for being a pornmonger now!

MrShape 03-09-2005 10:27 AM

Good peice of brutal exploitation.

SKOOFx 05-08-2006 06:01 AM

I spit on your grave

Bought it,
Saw it.

Enjoyed it.

(I couldnt sit and truly give all my attention to the flick, but i had it on while surfing the web - i caught most of it)

Besides the bathtub scene, and the never ending rape scenes.....the movie wasnt anything too dark and and gruesume.

Although I can definitly see why this is considered "notorious"to most.

Glad i added that to my collection.

hellfire1 05-08-2006 06:13 AM

oh my god, that bathtub scene. i was cringing throughout the whole thing.

urgeok 05-08-2006 06:17 AM

i thought Last House of the LEft was far more brutal and demeaning than this one

SKOOFx 05-08-2006 06:19 AM

Havent seen LHOTL.

I'm actually unfamiliar with the plot.(but obviously know of its existance)

The Flayed One 05-08-2006 07:51 AM

Hadn't seen it in years. Bought it, watched it, wasn't disappointed. I'm like you, SKOOFx, glad it's in my collection, along with LHotL. It's just not one of those movies I'll be watching again over the next year or so. It does look pretty sitting on my shelf, though.

tachii 05-08-2006 12:37 PM

aside from the fact that last house was firts wasn't it also hated/considered much more harsh by the general public when in actuality grave does feature a lot more friction. i'm supposing house buffed things over and made it possible for grave to be widely accepted. i've always wanted to get an opinion on that. hmmm, haven't seen it in five years must go back and view ;)

crippler666 05-10-2006 09:18 AM

I enjoyed both movies. Last House On The Left I felt was more violent, but you really have to hunt down the uncut version in the uk (same with I spit on your Grave).

But it surprises me that other films dont get the same response from people, that for me were far more graphic and disturbing (Cannibal Ferox, Slaughtered Vomit Dolls).
