Yeah, never got into re3 much at all...might one day I suppose, just seemed to lack something.
I remember playing one called "gun survivor" that was ridiculously short though.

Nah, not all the time. But enough to keep you on edge all the time. Keep in mind though, I was 11 when I started playing.

mikeyjay88 01-03-2009 10:58 AM

Well when i was young resident evil scared the shit out of me. I got over that though haha. Now im alittle embarrassed about this but in silent hill 5 homecoming some of the stuff scared me a tad bit like the doll simply because she was huge, and creepy. Also just the atmosphere was eerie. Thats about it most games dont trigger my fear button.

Don't be embarrassed.

Makes much more sense getting scared over a video game than a movie. Coz whether you'd like to admit it or not, you ARE that person trying to survive in the game.

When it comes to horror movies you'll always just be a spectator.

Wow man believe it or not thats exacly what i think of, i definatly feel like im really being attacked by these gigantic creatures and stuff. I love horror movies but playing the games just makes my adrenaline go sky high its amazing.

bloody_ribcut 01-03-2009 02:52 PM

the only game that scared me was friday the 13th for nintendo. when jason would pop out of nowhere with that music, i would jump.

UngodlyWarlock 01-13-2009 03:10 PM

Fallout 3 is actually doing a really good job with me these days.
Not in the "horrified" kind of sense, but just in the insane amount of tension while walking around in the open wasteland. It really feels like walking around in that type of terrain and it's unnerving.

I've had to start over because my first character was kind of screwed up, but somehow I'm not bothered by that.

Awesome shit.

-D

The Mothman 01-13-2009 05:56 PM

Ive never really felt scared by Fallout 3, aside from the occasional startle when a goul runs up on me in a tunnel, but at this point I can put those things down with one shot, my dude is a badass.

Freak 01-13-2009 08:03 PM

Yeah once you get to a certain point in the game you pretty much become unstoppable.I love sneaking up on someone and then blasting their head of with my combat shotgun.

Gerbzilla2000 01-14-2009 03:15 AM

I'm just about to play Call of Cthulhu:Dark Corners Of The Earth as I am a big H.P.Lovecraft fan and hope its alot better than Robert D.Anderson & the Legacy of Cthulhu on the PC ....

But the best horror game that spooked me was Silent Hill the 1st one it had every think in horror that I loved ( can't wait for the second film )

Babygurl20 01-14-2009 08:23 PM

Silent Hill (First One)
Left 4 Dead (Zombie Apocalypse)

Marroe 01-14-2009 09:17 PM

Fatal Frame scared me while I was playing it. I always felt like something was looking over my shoulder.

Yeah man I loved it when I was little becase of the walls then BAM there he is throwing ninja stars at you haha.

archivesofthedead 01-27-2009 08:57 AM

Resident Evil, the first one. I was also creeped out by the Goonies Nintendo game when I was younger for some reason.

hacelikewhoa 01-27-2009 10:11 PM

Video games in general scare me. Probably because I suck at all of them and I try really hard to concentrate on accomplishing anything I can so when things jump out at me I usually don't expect it and scream. haha. Like I play the Tomb raider games all of the time and there's always tigers, lions, and bears and stuff attacking me but it scares me every time. So, needless to say I don't play horror games so much. Oblivion gets me a lot of times too. All of the goblins and vampires and stuff in the caves scare the crap out of me. Best game ever though.

Posher778 01-28-2009 03:11 AM

Dead Space has managed to make me jump a few times, and i'm only on chapter 2 :D

CrimsonFiend138 01-28-2009 08:49 AM

Yeah the Tomb Raider games scared me actually. Like the T-rexes and the traps and wern't there alligators too? I always loved the second one.

Geedoo 01-28-2009 09:42 PM

f.e.a.r. My god, countless scares in that game, countless. The famous ladder, elevator and a few other scares. :S!
f.e.a.r 2 demo also scared me shitless
Bioshock's atmosphere ftw (Y) the dark room with bastards running at you <3

Fatal frame is also one hell of a game, i just wanna talk about it. :D Im alone and its dark here. :(

Halfpastundead 01-29-2009 12:25 PM

Dead Space - 360
Condemned 2 - 360
Blood - PC
The Thing - PC

Leprucky Cougar 01-29-2009 06:12 PM

IN 1997....I was terrified by Silent hill....haven't picked up any version of it since. And the fact I was watching someone play it when it was cold weather in the wee hours of the night...in a room with the lights out...didn't help me either. :o

I love silent hill. Prolly couldn't play the first one now if my life depended on it, the graphics are sooo bad. Some people don't mind( I don't mind SNES and Sega and stuff but not old gen playstation though) The Silent Hill games are great.

ChronoGrl 01-31-2009 01:12 PM

I had to put down both Dead Space and Left 4 Dead on the 360 because they both scared me too much. :o

I keep telling myself that I'm just "high strung" at the moment and will be able to tell them again. But, let's just face reality.

OH, and even the demo of Resident Evil 5 for the 360 freaked me the fuck out - WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?!?!

Yeah I had Silent Hill on the playstation console then...I think I saw someone play it on sega genesis before too.

Silencio 02-02-2009 07:30 AM

I used to be a huge video game fan; don't play them anymore. But I once played a game called "Silent Hill 4: The Room" and it just creeped the absolute shit out of me. I literally through the controller on the floor during one part.

haha I'm glad I'm not the only one. I had the second one on pc not that long ago. Controls were hard but I always love tomb raider. My bf had to reformat the computer though so I lost it. The only ones I actually own are Legend, and Underworld for the 360.

skull_fracture 02-05-2009 03:56 PM

A game that scared me a lot was Haunting Ground. There are four villains and you can't fight them directly, just run, and as you run, your 'fear gauge' gets higher and the screen gets messed up...it's a pretty fun game, and kinda tense =B

Theres nothing wrong with you, Dead Space is a genuinely tense game! Im big enough to admit the lamp stays on when that game is fired up.

Falkuse 02-09-2009 01:51 PM

Hmm, Call of Cthulhu was pretty scary :)

The haunted mansion in Vampires the masqurade: bloodlines

FEAR

Silent hill

Aliens versus predator 2 was a bit creepy as Marine too :P

Umm, thats all I can come up with right now.

LOL! Thanks!

I just feel bad because it was a Christmas present from my mom and now I don't play it at ALL.

I just got a place and was up against The Hunter and a couple of other beasties and it was just too much.
