I loved this challenge because one of the answers was The Amazing Colossal Man. That was the FIRST horror movie I saw and it made such an impression on me I remember it to this day. That one movie inspired my love of horror movies.

Deadites--
You have lost the first challenge due to one of your team members, Miss Macabre, not participating. In this stage of the game, team members must rely on each other and if one lets down the team, the whole team suffers. Not submitting anything is much worse than submitting all incorrect answers. So, from here on out, if a team member fails to participate in a challenge, they will be docked 1/3 of their total life points (this includes reanimation packs) for the first incident. All their life points would be deducted after a second incident, thus turning them to dust and so they would be out of Battle Royale for the Undead. One more thing: anyone can opt out of Battle Royale at any time by sending me a PM, but once you opt out, you cannot be allowed back in. Status update and details on the first run in the catacombs up in one hour. |

Here's how the catacombs work:
The losing team is released into the catacombs with a short head start before the winning follows after. The winning team will be given a weapon with limited ammo/durability to hunt the losing team. Each player starts off with a full life which is 10 life points. Every damage point (i.e. bullet wound) reduces the life points by 1. When you reach zero, you turn to dust and are so out of Battle Royale for the Undead. When you win a challenge, you will be typically granted Reanimation Packs as your reward. These will be used to reanimate a damaged portion of your body and thus restore your life points to a full life. |

Results of Catacombs Outing #1
As the Deadites entered the Catacombs, they split up, each taking a different tunnel.
The Cenobites entered the Catacombs shortly thereafter. They, however, did not split up, but moved as one group. A group with a purpose. It didn't take them long to find and corner their quarry. Ferret, Gore, V, and Alky raised their elephant guns and fired! Four direct shots tore through her body as she slumped, wounded to the ground. Her body?! That's right, the Cenobites target was none other than Miss Macabre! The Cenobites laughed manically as they strolled out of the Catacombs. Meanwhile... As Demon Handler, Fred put the three-headed demon dog, Cereberus into his new cage in the Catacombs, he forgot to lock the cage. As Fred hurried off to his much anticipated lunch break, Cereberus escapes from his cage looking for his own lunch. Hearing the gunshots, Cereberus can already smell the death in air as he runs towards the noise. Rounding a bend in the tunnel, Cereberus comes upon the wounded Miss Macabre as she struggles to stand. With no hesitation Cereberus attacks Miss Macabre, mauling her until she is nothing but dust [she has decided to opt out] As Neverending, Cactus, and Fortunato exit the catacombs, they realize they are one teammate short. Fearing the worst as they see Fred and his team of Demon Handlers run into the catacombs, blocking the exit behind them. Miss Macabre is dust and so out of Battle Royale for the Undead! She will be replaced with the next accepted victim in Battle Royale for the Living. Challenge #2: Movie Adaptations
Some of the best horror movies are adapted from books.
Based on the plot description, indentify the correct movie title, the book/novella/short story that it was adapted from, the author of that literary work, and the year it was first published. The plot descriptions are based on the movie. Each of these questions are worth 4 points. 1. An alien who infiltrates a research station. 2. A scientist who performs a procedure on himself that becomes irreversible, causing him to go insane. 3. A governess for two children begins seeing ghosts. 4. A guy's girlfriend disappears at a gas station. 5. A young investment banker's everyday activities. 6. A mother and son are terrorized by an animal. 7. A woman hides in a motel with a lonely owner. 8. A man enlists his brother's wife to help him return to physical form. 9. An FBI Agent enlists the help of someone he put behind bars. 10. A woman finds our the father of her child is not her husband. 11. Conflict between a team of investigators and the house in which they spend the night. 12. Two couples help their new-found friend look for his missing brother. 13. A scientist who develops a re-agent with messy results. 14. A teenager whose pleasures are violence and classical music. 15. Local nobility seek refuge in a castle from a plague. Again this is a team effort, but everyone must submit their own answers via PM to me. Only the first entry will be accepted. Also, since the Deadites are currently short a player, Alkytrio666 will be sitting out this round. Deadline is tomorrow, Thursday, May 1st at noon EST. Good Luck! :) |
