Yeah you are right. I forgot about that.
Requiem for a Dream - best movie ever about addiction!
Requiem was alright but IMO not as good as people tout it to be. It certainly didn't revolutionize a genre the way Night of the Living Dead did and to be honest, I like Pi better. NotLD for me.

so i'll go with the night. |
5-2, Night puts one over Requiem.

Round 1 Match 5
Quite simply put, THE most amazing movie ever made...my absolute all-time favorite by my 2nd favorite director... http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...RL._SS500_.jpg Rashomon (1950) Director - Akira Kurosawa vs. The milestone in sci-fi horror, never bettered, even after numerous remakes... http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...EL._SS500_.jpg Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) Director - Don Siegel |
Rashomon without hesitation.

Rashomon for me.
I really liked this film. |
never seen rashomon and, though I enjoyed body snatchers, I'm not a big fan, so judging but how enthusiastic you all are, I'll say rashomon.
6-0, Rashomon advances by a surprise shutout over Invasion.
(not that I thought differently, but the shutout surprised me alright) |
Round 1 Match 6
Hooper's raw, brutal & unflinching look at unabashed and shocking reality... http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...PL._SS500_.jpg The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) Director - Tobe Hooper vs. Arguably, DeNiro & Scorcese's power-packed hardhitter of a movie... http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...ML._SS500_.jpg Raging Bull (1980) Director - Martin Scorcese |
Raging Bull because TCM is a shitty movie :)
TCM. Other than the opening credits, Raging Bull just didn't do it for me.
Raging Bull for me
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Tcm..............
Tough one............... gotta go with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
texas chainsaw massacre
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Raging Bull
I love both films but I'm gonna vote for Raging Bull. It's a MASTERPIECE- and DeNiro, one of the greatest living actors, was at the top of his form here.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Raging Bull
Oh, most definately Raging Bull. I mean, if we're going for sheer quality, come on.
^ agreed.
raging bull. |
8-7, TCM edges out Raging Bull.
Round 1 Match 7
An epic, a breathtaking journey...and a ground-breaker... http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...wL._SS500_.jpg Metropolis (1927) Director - Fritz Lang vs. Arguably, the best horror-comedy to have come out in recent times... http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...hL._SS500_.jpg Shaun of the Dead (2004) Director - Edgar Wright |
Shaun of the Dead
Metropolis
Shaun of the Dead
Metropolis, definately.
Metropolis
Shaun of the Dead
This is another realy tough match for me, I think what swayed me toward Shaun was the fact that Lang has done more than one film that I like better than Metropolis. |
Metropolis. Fritz Lang's masterpiece.
I saw Metropolis on HBO the other day and was considerably impressed.
It's unbelievable that they made this way back in 1927. For being so far ahead of it's time, it gets my vote. |
5-3, Metropolis silently marches ahead of Shaun.
