I understand the smallness of these actors...that's why it always makes me scratch my head when a male actor dates a model:confused:
They must have people with stools following them around just in case of a photo opt:D

Thanks to you too , V. I'm in a situation where I'm pretty isolated and you've helped make this a warm, welcoming environment with great conversation and a lot to do while I weathered some difficult times. I'm genuinely moved by this thread and all you put into this place.

Happy 10,000th mate!

You make such a huge contribution here - it is greatly appreciated by me (and I bet I am not alone).

You help to make this place great, so please keep it up.

_____V_____ 10-09-2009 09:49 AM

Instead of making a new thread, I ll just bump this old one because it brings back plenty of fond memories...

It has been quite the journey, my friends.

A lot has happened since I made this thread the first time. And I am amazed that the next lot of these has come about so quickly (around one and half years later). Time sure flies fast...

I need to apologise to a few people first - Posher, Ferretchucker, Disease, Angra, Cheebacheeba, Hellfire1, Despare and specially to Neverending. You all should know why. Deepest, humblest apologies for those moments.

And thanks to all of HDC. The light still burns brightly inside, and the dedication has not lessened one bit. Maybe it went through some dampening moments, but I can feel it is still burning pretty strongly.

No amount of "thank you"s typed out will be equal to the thanks from deep within my heart which go out to each and every one for you.

Thanks, guys...for supporting me and every crazy idea I have thrown out towards all of you! Amazing that many of them have been successes too!

Without you all, there would not have been me. Let's keep HDC on top of the world! :)

Congratulations again V! You certainly have a lot of really great posts here.

And some pretty silly and immaturish ones too, I must admit. Specially in the second 10K lot.

But thanks, MissM. :)

We've all had our stupid moments, at least you're man enough to admit that, and apologize. Some people never understand the importance of doing so.

ferretchucker 10-09-2009 10:36 AM

Ah, don't worry about it at all V. What would this place be without the touch of drama every now and then!?

Congrats on the new post count. I'm gradually approaching 10K, should hit it by this time next year. Not to worry though, I won't be like Festered and just post pointlessly to bring up the count. I'll post pointlessly because it's fun!

neverending 10-09-2009 11:28 AM

20k- amazing!

.....

fortunato 10-09-2009 12:50 PM

Haha, wow. Before I read your post, I thought, "Why is he bumping this?", and then I saw your post count and went .

Well done, my friend. Here's to another great 10,000 posts.

_____V_____ 10-09-2009 07:55 PM

Thanks, guys. :)

And thanks for forgiving one of my big indiscretions, Des. I assure you it wont happen again.

May we see 30, 40, 50,000...good work, my friend. You dusted this place off and saved it from stagnating, you bust your ass to make this a fun place to spend our time. Thanks and congratulations.

_____V_____ 08-30-2010 10:34 AM

Contemplation can be a wonderful thing.

When you have time to sit down and think over a lot of things which are happening around you and look for reasons why, a calm mind finally zeroes in on the answers.

And once the pieces start to fall in, you realise. Sometimes that realisation hits you hard.

It was one of those moments about 10-11 minutes ago. And instead of making a new thread for it, I just decided to bump this old thread - the best way I have of connecting with my online family here.

I have turned my badge in.

Thanks to all who voted for me during the elections, and an even bigger thanks to all the other Mods who trained and supported me through all these times since then. It wasn't exactly fun while it lasted ("endurable" would be a better choice of word for it), and I have no regrets.

Posher778 08-30-2010 10:41 AM

Are you leaving or just not moderating anymore.

You leave and you die.

fuglystick 08-30-2010 11:50 AM

I hope that only means that V had relinquished his moderating responsibilities, and intends to continue to frequent the boards as a valuable and knowledgeable contributor.

However, if he is relinquishing his responsibilities due to the frustration of moderating an increasingly hostile board, he has only himself and the other moderation staff to blame. For too long, a kangaroo court has taken it upon themselves to vet and chastise new members, driving away potential assets to the forum. The moderation staff could have prevented this at any time, but chose not to, letting a handful of people make the determination of who would and who would not be accepted into the community.

Enough is enough.

I joined this board to discuss the horror genre, not to get involved in a juvenile popularity contest. And I'm not going anywhere. If the moderators don't step up and do their jobs, I expect there to be more animosity until the kangaroo court is disbanded.

Then go to the horror film section and talk about it. It's beneath the general column on the main index if you don't know. Plenty of people ignore general and only talk in the movies/games/books/art sections. Don't talk bs about our mods here, this is V's thread.

illdojo 08-30-2010 12:02 PM

Any board on the web is gonna have Vets and n00bs. It's just the way it is. People will disagree and debate. Isn't that what makes it fun?

ferretchucker 08-30-2010 02:28 PM

Maybe he just doesn't have the time to fulfill his responsibilities? He has a real life.

Doc Faustus 08-30-2010 07:49 PM

Regardless of what you do and how you choose to interact with the folks on this board, your remain my friend, V. Thanks for all you've done. Whatever happens, let's keep up a spirit of openness, civility, curiosity and fun and promote justice over antagonism and tolerance over douchery.

X¤MurderDoll¤X 08-30-2010 10:52 PM

I'm really curious about what fuglystick is talking about. I would like to know exactly the problems he sees with the forum and how he would change it...

anyway V, I love ya. if you're quitting moderating that is fine with me, I thought you did a great job. if you need a break from this place, most of us will be here waiting for you when you return.
