Nice photos, I really enjoy great pictures of everyday objects. There's just something about really looking at something you see all the time and being able to notice little things about it that you usually don't.

the origional pics (and i have a lot of them) are pretty big - so i bet i could get the number easily i'll have to check and see if there's a falcon registry |
I like the one of the squirrel. That's a very uncharacteristic pose for a squirrel. Squirrels are one of my favorite animals. They always seem like they're having so much fun.

you'd be suprised .. they do that all the time around our place .. they lie there like drunk little lords with all 4 legs hanging down - it's pretty funny. i built up quite the trust relationship with one squirrel in particular. saved one of her babies from a cat as well.. held it in my hand - man was it ever cute. here's me and the mom .. or as my wife called her : my squirrel-friend. (my face looks weird because i was caught talking to it :) ) http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a1/...y/DSC07723.jpg |

yesterday - the coolest thing ever happened ..
I've been a Minolta guy for many years. (could never afford a Nikon) My old SLR was a Minolta, and my 1st good digital was a Minolta. when i bought my Digital-SLR ... i still couldn't afford a Nikon so after reading a lot of literature comparing the Nikon, Sony, and the Cannon ... i went with the Sony (alpha 100) as it compared fairly well and gave more bang for the buck. Turns out Sony bought Minolta and the alpha 100 is all Minolta technology (with Zeis lenses) so .. one downfall of the Sony was that i wanted a 50mm Portrait lens. For the Cannon and the Nikon .. its about $100. for the sony it's about $400.00 !!!! (the sony came with a 70mm and a 300mm) so on a whim ... i tried the 50mm from my old Minolta SLR - and the bloody thing worked ! so i have that and the 210mm lens i already had for the Minolta .. plus - the external flash from the Minolta digital is compatable as well ! i dont know if there is anyone on the planet that'll appreciate this - but it was such a sweet suprise for me .. i may not have been able to get the Nikon i wanted (yet) but there sure was some sweet fringe benefits to getting the Sony. |
That's great Urge, I can't wait to see some more photos here from you!

I'm not much of a photographer, but I'm rather proud of these ones:
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i9...cture_0147.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i9...cture_0156.jpg That's a buddy of mine...we both dressed up and went out for the Why So Serious challenge that was part of the viral marketing for The Dark Knight. There's a bunch of pictures of me, too - but I took these ones and I'm really happy with how they turned out:) |

I don't understand why rats and mice have such bad reputations. They're so cute and friendly.

Tried to catch a full moon the other night.
fiddling with various settings - not much worked ... but i did get a couple of interesting effects - i guess.. http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a1/...y/DSC03760.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a1/...y/DSC03768.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a1/...y/DSC03769.jpg |
Pretty neat. I like the 3rd one.
|
Quote:
the 1st one is cool blown up (which you can do - really far with the origional) you can see all the detail you would see on a map of the moon. |
That was at maximum zoom?
|
Quote:
here it is cropped http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a1/.../DSC03760b.jpg |
Pretty good lens.
The cropped one looks sharp, albeit a bit denser. |

so did i until i used the flash .. that seems to be the secret. i also played around with ISO, aperature, speed, etc ... but the simple moon picture was done with the flash on - that was the only thing extra. |
That's quite strange, because a flash only illuminates what's 20 feet uin front of you.
Using a time exposure you can get a nice shot of the moon. |
