Halloween was a "reboot" too, but that shit was terrible.

Just leave the already boring movie (IMO) alone and make a unoriginal movie about satan possesing a puppet or something better.

jugchord 09-04-2008 05:44 PM

I'm semi-excited for this, its kind of cool they got him back though

pinkfloyd45769 09-04-2008 06:11 PM

WHOA...Halloween is fucking far from terrible. What the hell????I really could care less about the Chucky remake, just chimed in at the Halloween remark.I am one of the few that loved it i guess.

I would have liked it more if it didn't take the exact scenes and made them look different and called them new. Plus why does Rob have to have white trash in all of his movies? Apperantly a evil child wasnt enough, he had to make his family trailer trash and abusive. Not to mention the trashy softcore porn in every movie.

The same movie would have been tolerable if it didn't have 100% more hillbilly's and 400% more sex.

I'll still see rob's movie's but they will always seem more unoriginal when he has more trash and sex. It's pointless for shock value when it's not even shocking anymore

it would be intresting to see dourif back though

I hear you in some respect, for the most part a lot of the remakes occurring are due to studios and their smaller "independent" production house are happening because they know that if they put their efforts into an already successful franchise they will be able to make enough from Box Office and DVD sales to pull a profit and deliver a mediocre film that will be loved by the hot topic moviegoers.

In the defense of the remake though, there are some that were definitely for the best. Obviously "Hills Have Eyes" not only because (my opinion) it was superior to the original, it brought the film to an audience that would've never have seen the original. And if they had, they probably wouldn't have liked it all that much. The sad truth is that the films in the most need of a remake treatment are the ones that are least likely to be considered due to ownership and lack of bar graphs that could guarantee they make at least the money spent on the film back.

bloody_ribcut 09-05-2008 10:43 AM

i think it'll do ok. thats our source in horror for adult language, what other monster talks like a coke-head scumbag?

ferretchucker 09-05-2008 03:34 PM

I'll see it one way or another. Doubt I'll like it. I wasn't a fan of any of them and to tell the truth, I enjoyed Bride more than CP. Both pretty bad but Bride had some good dark humour.

I understand what you are saying,i was talking to Urge about this.I think the white trash shit is played out and the sex scenes are a bit too much.I thought the movie actually made it seem that michael had a good reason to kill.I was totally on his side!I'm just such a huge Halloween fan that i will never think they are bad. There are some things i think could have been done different and there are some things that i liked more about this film over the original.

Pffffff...Like what?

The remake all together was ok, but there were some things that really brought it down. Aside from the similar plot and scenes it's kind of insulting to compare it to the original IMO.

Child play remake!!!

Hey I got info that they are going to make a childs play remake!!!

Doc Faustus 12-28-2009 08:10 PM

It's pretty likely. There have been remakes of all the other 80s horror franchises. This won't be as much of a disappointment as the others because Child's Play might have a cool killer, but the movies are just about the stalest out of all the horror franchises. Other than Bride of Chucky, those movies were pretty half-assed.

jasonfreak 12-28-2009 08:22 PM

Who knows this movie could really be impressing!!! :D Anyway Chucky is a cool killer!!

Doc Faustus 12-28-2009 09:13 PM

Chucky is a cool killer. He just stars in lazy movies. Child's Play has terrible acting, massive plotholes and very little going for it but a killer doll. Once you get past the idea that a doll is killing people, these movies have nothing. He's not even the first killer doll in movie history. Child's Play had enough plot potential for an episode of Tales from the Darkside, but four movies? Hardly. And these remakes are nothing but glossy, humorless, insincere attempts to capitalize on socalled classics. These movies are only classics because people's knowledge of the genre is so limited. There were much scarier and cooler movies being made in the 80s without Freddy, Jason or any of the typical franchise killers. Franchise horror hasn't been the best horror going since Universal was making movies in the 30s and 40s, and even back then, the best movies they did weren't part of franchises. Some cool things you should see:
Phantasm
Reanimator
Videodrome
The Brood
Zombie
Evil Dead
The Hitcher (ORIGINAL ONLY)
Near Dark
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (ORIGINAL)
Tenebre
Pieces
Tales from the Darkside: The Movie
Creepshow
Hatchet for a Honeymoon
Bay of Blood

ORIGINAL?? What means this... ORIGINAL??

jasonfreak 12-29-2009 05:48 AM

I dont know I mean you got to admit the original Friday the 13th didnt make any sense and you didnt even see Jason once. But when they made the remake it made a lot more sense but of course in the movie they metioned the original so it was like Friday The 13th 2. Halloween I havent seen the original but I know that the renake was amazing.

Doc Faustus 12-29-2009 08:28 AM

The original Friday actually makes a lot of sense. It's just psychological horror instead of just random teen slashing. I can't believe you haven't seen the original Halloween.

jasonfreak 12-29-2009 08:54 AM

I will and still you dont see Jason in the movie it was his mother

Doc Faustus 12-29-2009 10:42 AM

Yes, that one isn't about Jason. The series is called Friday the 13th, not Jason Voorhees. And you do see Jason.

Adjust the brightness on your TV next time you watch it. It become pretty clear. I think they took it a little too far when he was in the back of the car though.

jasonfreak 12-30-2009 07:40 AM

In the movie they had no good lighting only in the daytime
