Maybe. Those movies are classic id hate to see them ruined because of new age thinking. I didnt like the Halloween remake because it was nothing like the first one. It should of been just Halloween 9 Michael Myers Revenge or something like that.

*sighs* Good grief.....in the first THREE films that Jason was in (as adult, killer Jason) he DID run. So the running is not a new thing. Everyone that doesn't remember this, and only remembers ZOMBIE Jason....watch this....;)

He may be faster now, but he still ran dammit.....:D

How about no attitude :) and i guess i didnt realize he ran as much as he did my bad lol but still Rob Zombie did ruin the Halloween remake.

I hope they don't screw this up...I've loved this franchise since I was a kid (was even named after the guy) and I really hope they don't just throw the classic style out the window. If anything kills this movie, it will be some Hollywood dickhead thinking that he can "do it better" while throwing the classic feel out the window. I know 13th part 9 sucked on purpose to get it away from Paramount, who didn't care about the franchise anymore...but after "Freddy Vs. Jason" I think the point stands that people still love these films. I mis Kane Hodder playing Jason, but maybe the new guy taking up the role will use Kane as an example of "the right way". We'll see I guess.

Fav. Friday the 13th movie: Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives...It was the first one I got to see on the silver screen and being in a theater where the crowd cheered Jason on while he did his thing was awesome...It was a great theater experience, thus I'll always have a soft spot for the film...

:D

I was joking with you.....notice the smileys? ;) So no attitude actually. :) But I just think its funny that zombie Jason is all a lot of people remember. And I agree, Zombie totally ruined the Halloween remake. :D

Im sorry if i took it the wrong way. My bad again :o lol I guess its because thats just how alot of movies were then the killers walked. I have to agree with Jason Grimm aswell i hope they keep the feeling of the movie alive.

Don't worry about it, that's why I am so free with my smiley usage....its easy to take things the wrong way online. :)
Anyway, I am not much of a Friday the 13th fan (I find the first one pretty uninteresting except for the death scenes, and the others are entertaining, but not exactly sacred to me), so I think I have a better chance of enjoying this remake than a lot of others. But I find the sheer number of remakes we're getting lately, just ridiculous. There are some good ones, obviously, but I've given up on the filmmakers actually being respectful of the original films. I go in with low expectations.
But the Black Christmas remake just pissed me off...lol.

I agree totally i mean Friday the 13th was never sacred to me or anything either so i wont like pound my fist with fury and sheer pissed offness when i see it and it sucks (if it does) but halloween pissed me off and black christmas was a disaster when did it ever mension in the original that billys mom liked having sex with him? It was stupid same with the when a stranger calls remake.

Yeah, I had the same problem with the Halloween remake that I had with the Black Christmas one.....too much backstory, I think Black Christmas was the worst offender I thought just because it was so freakin' ridiculous. Both of the original films were scary because of what you DIDN'T know or understand. Both remakes kind of stomped all over that idea. Subtlety kind of flew out the window there.

But we'll see, maybe they didn't make the same mistakes here. I mean, other than the obvious mistake of making it in the first place. haha. It could be fun.

chizzle 10-28-2008 03:14 PM

Of course, I dont believe that Rob Zombie butchered the halloween remake. You gotta think its ROB ZOMBIE, he is a sick fuck. you know he wouldn't make it exactly like the first one. He said he would never do another remake....so we will see.

back on topic:
But I dont think this will be bad at all...I just wish that we could get some new ideas from writers and stop remaking old movies. The trailor for this movie looks like its going to be pretty bad ass...no matter how good this movie is, someone won't like it because its a remake....

RZ is a miss with critics and horror fans alike, but, I'll still say he's a genius.
I'll prove myself right in 30 years:D

Well i want to see it Never saw a FT13 movie in the theater so this will be cool. Now i just watcher the first four friday the 13ths and i believe that that parts 2-4 take place on the same weekend or week is this true? If it is true then what could happen in between 2 and 4 like it said in the beginning of this thread.

I could see parts 2 and 3 taking place pretty close to each other, and maybe even in the same week since the news reports that are airing in the beginning of 3 indicate that the murders in part 2 just happened. Then, in part 4, Jason starts killing just after he's delivered to the morgue after dying in part 3.

Part 5 is Bullshit......

Part 6 continues where 4 left off, with Tommy Jarvis all grown up, but with Jason in the ground. Unfortunately, all of Jason's time is accounted for since part 2, so there aren't any gaps that would allow for Jason to take any extra killing sprees.
