I dont necessarily think *nastiest* comes in a in ya face gorefest way. Imagery is all well and good but, for me, its psychological horror that gets me everytime.
"Funny Games" is one of them - nasty, nasty film  |

August Underground, period, nothing even close. I watched the whole thing but damn it was hard. Acting is terrible, story is almost non existent but for Nasty its land hard and heavy.
|
I Spit on Your Grave. Just... ugh. The Rape Avenger plot does NOT need that much justification.
Did anyone see "A Serbian Film"? I'd gotten free tickets to a screening and invited a bunch of friends, but then chickened out and left them to fend for themselves. A suspect it's nasty-factor is through the roof. |
These are kinda 'nasty'
Melancholie der Engel Voyage to Agatis Debris Documentar Cannibal {2006} Marian Dora is known for shocking and disgusting subject matter. |
A Serbian Film and Slaughtered Vomit Dolls.....worst I have ever seen!
|
I'm surprised to see so many votes for Irreversible. Much like "I Spit On Your Grave" or "Baise-Moi", harsh rape scene but I didn't find it all that "Nasty". The fire extinguisher scene was neat but I didn't find it nasty.
There's dozens I can think of that I personally find nasty for one reason or another. Just depends on what you find "Nasty". It's like what is "Scary" to you. Some people are scared of Zombies, others laugh at them. There isn't really one criteria that fits the bill. That said, I would vote: Salo: The 120 Days Of Sodom (1975) (I was the only person in town who owned a copy many, many years ago and half a dozen film students in town found out and asked me to do a screening for them. The last half hour or so had most of them turning their heads or gagging, 1 girl left halfway through. If Hostel is nasty to you try "Boy Meets Girl (1994)". It's hard to find but I personally found it worse than Hostel. I also found The Doom Generation (1995) nasty, but that was just for the guy licking his own spluge off his hand, which I personally find "nasty". |

A Serbian Film, Irreversable, and Salo all definitely feature some gut churning stuff. But at least they are watchable.
Pop in one of Andreas Schnaas's " movies " and prepare to be repelled by more than gore effects. That crap makes Chester Novell Turner look like Spielberg. |
That film I made with Angra's girlfriend was pretty nasty.
|
As a bit of a gorehound, I was surprised by the effect Begotten (1990) had on me.
For some reason I find that film particularly nasty. Two tentacles up! |

I haven't seen her in years. Say hi from me will ya. ::::wink::::smile:: |
I Spit On Your Grave
Cannibal Holocaust. |
A Serbian Film. Its a good one to watch because it's actually a good film with a decent message about life in Serbia.
*SPOILER* *SPOILER* The bit with the main guy and his kid at the end, that's the stuff of nightmares. *SPOILER* |
