Jenifer (2005)

yes its very good. Argento has directed superbly, and its a really interesting flick. It has some really sweetass scenes which will stay in the mind and stars Steven Weber (The Shining mini-series remake). I m waiting for it to be released in August on DVD.

ohh yes I read about it. The unaired one must be Takashi Miike's Imprint.

Anchor Bay is gonna release that box set sometime in August, according to this :-

"Anchor Bay have now decided to stop publishing the double disc DVDs for the Masters of Horror series, and instead are set to release a complete box set of all the shows some time in August. Official statement as released on www.anchorbay.co.uk.

"We've analysed fan feedback over the last month on and off the forums and have decided on a different release strategy for the MoH Franchise. We will be commencing work on a box set for the entire series which will come out sometime in the Autumn, full details to be announced.

As a result of this, the doubles will no longer be released as previously planned. We apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment this may cause but we feel it is the best way forward for the series and the best way to give you, the fans, the best possible package and value for money. Full details of the box set will be revealed once they are finalized."

Sweet, thanks. Sounds good.

One more question, my man. How 'bout a release date for the US box set?

Personally, I prefer the 2-packs to a boxset anyway. I never get around to buying boxswets cause I dont like spending alot of money at one time. This way, I can spend $25 ever couple months, plus I get to anticipate the next set of releases.

_____V_____ 06-25-2006 09:34 PM

Right now, they have no plans to release it in the US, alky. The only way you can get ahold of one is to call up a friend in the UK and ask him to send it to you.

I personally havent bought any MoH 2-movie sets yet, thinking they might release the entire set eventually. I ll still wait and see, hopefully we might get lucky after the UK release.

The_Return 06-26-2006 05:40 AM

Ive bought them all, and am eagerly awaiting tomorrows release

Sounds painfull. I'm waiting for this to hit the super cheap bins. Every store over here has 99999999999999999 copies of it so it'll be a couple of bucks in no time. I'm dubious about it anyway I think this wil be the flick that soils Peter Jackson's for me gimme Heavenly Creatures or the Frighteners anyday over his other big budget efforts.

i dunno man - this is a solid flick. Jackson managed to put some pure Jackson moments into the film... as well as a good solid, well acted, well told, well paced story.

I was extremely aprehensive when i heard about this project but seeing it turned me into a believer.

Excellent CGI in this movie. This is one of the few instances where i think CGI sould be used .. lifelike dinosaurs, etc .. things that could bever be achieved in any other way.

This film is no Titanic .. its a much smarter layered film than that ..

there was a nice special edition released here a few years ago ...
it comes in a wooden box .. i still see it around every now and then ..

Achor Bay release i believe

joshaube 08-21-2006 06:30 AM

I have an "extended version" which I believe is from the UK. It's 99m long, and apparently the "order of the film is corrected" and some additional footage from before the flight is added that "adds a lot to the story". 11 minutes longer then the standard version?

Sadly, it seems these scenes are restored from a VHS and thus, the quality is very poor.

The above picture is of The Complete Exorcist Anthology.
It contains 6 discs:
  • The Exorcist
  • The Exorcist: The Version You've Never seen (2000 re-release)
  • Exorcist 2: The Heretic
  • Exorcist III
  • Exorcist: The Beginning
  • Dominion: Prequel to The Exorcist

Pretty badass...

They'll also be doing anthologies of: The Omen Series (including the 2006 remake) and The Fly: The two older films and the two remakes.

Or you could just shell out $15 and get the double sided releases out now...each one is around $7 (Canadian, so less for you) and have 2 films. Not much in the way of features, but if you're looking for the films its the way to go.

If the packaging's nice, I might fork over the extra cash for the new set.

I hate those fuckin' double sided discs.
