Always been fascinated with Aztec and Mayan myth, particularly the ritual human sacrifice. And what's not to love about the people who introduced chocolate and chiles to the world?

I reckon this is the most interesting and meaningful name I've seen here... I really like the thought that went into it and the meaning behind it. Mine is very straight forward, verging on boring! I usually go under the name Dusk, reason being it's my favourite time of the day/night. It's the magical hour, everything looks beautiful and mystical... But... When I registered here the name was already taken so I chose Misfit because I love the band and also because I love the word Misfit.

I kinda wanted to have a fruit name, and I also kinda wanted a name that was reminiscent of Miss Crabtree. You remember who Miss Crabtree was, right? June Marlowe?

Nothing really. Another Guy in the band came up with it.
Basically, "ILL" meaning "Sick" and "Dojo" meaning "House or Home"
So.....I guess "Sick House".
To quote some old 2001 lyrics - "They call us ILL cause our style is sick". :D

ferretchucker 05-27-2007 02:55 PM

i love small time bands. To me they seem more musical. They don't have thousands of computers interfering and a 50000 guy band. They're simply normal people, their own lyrics playing their own instrument and nothing more.

Mine's pretty simple.
I was almost named Nova Dawn.
Personally, I love the name.
969 was a mix of 666 and the age of the oldest recorded human, Methuselah.
I have a small thing for long lives and immortality.
Methuselah is also translated as "when he dies/died, it will be sent/has been sent".
Maybe not as simple as some, but simple all the same.

Ahh I thought it was short for supernova Dawn. But i wish i had immortality.

Freak 05-28-2007 10:31 AM

A lot of people wouldn't want to be immortal but I for one would love it.I have this huge fear of death so not being able to die would rule.Plus you'd get to see all the new things that happen in the future.

I'm not so much into the whole immortality thing any longer...
I just want a simple yet fun life.
But Alchemy may come in handy...
Ugh... so many life goals, and half of them aren't even mine!

I would tell a black smith to make me a katana and an AK-47 before i changed though,so i could stab and shoot all that tried to eat me.

gordytheghoul 05-29-2007 10:23 AM

Gordy the Ghoul

The name Gordy the Ghoul goes back aways to another time known as the 1970s and a TV series known as Kolchak: The Night Stalker. Darren McGavin played Kolchak, a reporter who finds himself covering supernatural stories, one of his contacts was a local mortican that Kolchak called Gordy the Ghoul. Combined with the fact that my last name is Gordon, and I was born in a city that Mr. McGavin once lived, it seemed like destiny, written on a tombstone somewhere, that my user name and over all internet handle would be GordytheGhoul.

ferretchucker 05-30-2007 02:49 AM

here's one for you guys. If you were offered the chance to be a vampire, would you take it. I always thought I would until I had a dream where it happened and it was HORRIBLE! The fact that I could never have a child, i could never see the sunlight, I couldn't be photograpghed, I could never have a proper relationship and I would have to start a new life because I coul put those around me in danger. Obviously there are pro's but do you lot think they outweigh the cons?

zer0 05-30-2007 11:38 PM

i would jump at the chance.

i have actually been thinking about this since the mid 90s or so, and even the type o negative song 'suspended in dusk' could not change my mind.

I heard that song once..
not bad at all..despite the lyrics being a little weird.

ferretchucker 05-31-2007 06:37 AM

I just don't think I could unless I was able to go out in sunlight, like half-vampires in Darren Shans books of the name "The saga of Darren Shan." Very good teen horror

Yeah, I totally would. I already have 2 kids, I don't much care for sunlight, I hate having my picture taken, not like any of the relationships I've had are proper anyways. The only thing I would find difficult is severing contact with my kids and family.....I'm sure I could find a way around that.

Dante'sInferno 05-31-2007 07:24 PM

I hate bratty children. All they do is cry,and bitch.Like:"WAAAAAAHHHH!!!!"He stole my diaper! or um.....I'ma tell on you! and my personal favorite:I hate you!

Blah.
