Basicly ferret, from what I gathered, Dave was using this site to pull young ladies and minor girls into yahoo chat for sexual discussions with his cohorts. He used his friendly goofy personality as a means to lure females into inappriopate situations. Personaly, I would love seen him stoned in the street for this behavior, but I have bad aim when throwing rocks.

Oh, of course, by the number of times he stressed the word "virgin", I knew this guy was a little perverted. I'm just glad nothing really creepy happened.

When I'm usually on the boards here I'm at work (and suppose to be working :rolleyes: ), the last thing I want is some random naked-parts picture coming up on my screen when my boss walks in.

We do need to watch out better, and don't let basic attitudes of people be the only judge of character.

lets not start a witch hunt. if this place was any more standoffish towards newbies nobody would join. i would say it is incredibly unlikely another 'dave' will turn up. lets face it, why would they? a horror website isn't prime hunting ground for these people. that aside, lets not forget the mods dealt with it efficiently. lets just preserve the status quo, besides one of the old faces stated earlier this place hasn't changed in their time , so why now?

Actually a horror forum is the perfect place, just for the reason you think it is not. Last place you suspect a sexual predator would be here. But we do have our share of female members, and Dave was good at sniffing them out. The best predators are the ones who find unlikely places to attack.

I mod a rp forum, where we have many younger members, probably over half active members are under 18. We have had multiple encounters with freaks coming trying to do naughty things with kiddies. Honestly, no where on the net is safe.

As for the witch hunt, this place is very standoffish with newbies, but besids a few bumps, I really havent had much of an issue with the old timers of this site.

i'm just so shocked. He always seemed like an alright guy. He was nice to me since my first day here and stuck up for me. The only thing that has now convinced me to not talk to him about it was a few months back, he asked what my yahoo address was.

This made for some mighty interesting reading. The Internet has been around for such a long time now one would think there would be stricter cyber-laws in force, and when such people are identified across websites and forums and boards, there should be a system of blocking their computers from Internet access.
The police had set up a sort of Cyber Cell a long time back, from what I had read in the newspapers, and nothing has been done ever since to do something about such culprits. Such people in real life would probably be dragged into litigations in courts by now, but because this is the Internet, they get away with it.
Banning them from this forum would save this one, but when they joined another place, the women there are doomed. I just hope any of these mental cases dont carry their deranged thoughts into real life and actually hurt any women.
That being said, the moderators deserve a pat on the back for singling out these people and kicking them out. At least the younger generations who browse these forums will now feel safe knowing that someone is always watching over them.

That's a very nobel idea, unfortunately they have absolutely no reason to believe us...Our forum has already been pegged as "a bunch of assholes" and "shit-stirrers" over there, and the offenders have been welcomed with open arms, and coddled with declarations of savior from this terrible place

I hope it at least makes them keep their eyes open and watch for signs...But, I honestly don't believe that we'll be taken seriously


It isn't really that forum's fault...No one REALLY wants to believe stuff like this, so it's usually much easier not to...That's another way that the perpetrators get away with it...

this may sound a bit mushy but I like the way when all this stuff happens we come together as a community and try and sort it out. We may not know each other properly but I think it's good how we're not just a bunch of people saying stuff, we interact and are friends with each other. Bloodrayne is the mum who keeps it under control, I'm the little cousin who occasionly get's a word in, ribcut, zero and posher are the cool uncles. Zwoti is the family leader "Grandad" and then theres the weird 2nd cousins from hicktown who only come if there's food and little girls. Dave and trippin. There's many mosr as well

why do these people do this. Why did he spend so much time gaining trust and fighting for his right to stay here all to just blow it? And the point that's worrying me, if he has friends and is targeting teenage girls on the internet. What else could they be doing outside the internet. I think if anyone has any idea about him i.e - name, adress, rough age they should inform the police. Better to be safe than sorry.

I'm a little confused about something...If his fiance is a 20 year-old virgin in Indiana...How come his number 1, top friend on MySpace is a 24 year-old 'dancer' (who has a little girl) in Maryland, who claims to be proud of being a slut in her profile?

I was one of the lucky ones - Dave was lovely to me, personally. He PM'd me with a welcome, nothing heavy or accusatory about others, just a plain ol' welcome.

We have PM'd occasionally since and he has let me into a tiny bit of his personal world and personal life worries on certain issues - and I have sympathised etc.. and cant blame him for worrying considering those issues - but they are private, so wont go into it, if you dont mind.

Humour wise, I guess people can take umbrage cos as we all know, humour perspective is relative to culture and/or where you live in general or how darkly you think!

For example, as soon as we have a natural disaster where thousands are wiped out in seconds, before ya know it, all those jokes go round (you know the ones I mean) - some people find them funny, some people find them in bad taste - its all about perspective.

In some cultures, you stick your thumb up as an approved okay, but in another culture it means *uck you!

It can be easy to misunderstand where someone is coming from if their humour is different to yours.

Guys, I am fairly new here and havent experienced the full on Dave thing - and for those of you who have testified to the more unsavoury side of Dave - then, as I say... Sexual predatry doesn't appear to happen too often here, and I think it is important to keep recent events contained to a one-off rather than risk hysteria and paranoia.

I think the general warnings and guidelines widely advertised by the internet and by parents should suffice without a glaring point being made on this site.

Of course you could always argue that you can never do enough to deter internet deviants, but knee-jerk reactions to this subject are commonplace in society and the forums warning that 'your private messager might want to terrorise you' could put a lot of new members off.

My 14 yr old has a laptop for homework purposes only as i have locked her out of all forums..
if she wants to visit her sites..she does from my computer..in my room ..under my watchful eye..and when somebody asks for her contact details...i jump online and talk to them.

Haven't been here in a little while and I just wanted to say, I liked omcdave. If he was banned, so be it. But to erase all of his posts as if he never existed? Unless it was to regain some server space or something similar, that's a little scary. 'nuff said.

Thats to wipe out the fact that he never existed, as far as this forum goes. And to start anew. For all the things he and Trippin did...it was a very weak punishment.

Both should have been hung up in the town square and severely beaten with stones...till death, IMO.
