Seems unnecessary to bump this when there was another thread a few days ago where people were saying the same old shit about the heirarchy of the forum or the fact that its going down hill. This thread is 4 years old and people are talking about this place going down hill, give it up already.... As someone who's been here over a year now it seems like half the problem is people want to spend their time crying about 'the way we were' and bitching about the 'in crowds' and how much ass kissing there is.... If a mod sees this post, I would like to ask that all these type of threads, that essentially revolve around pissing contests, and the wonderfully boring history of HDC be consolidated into one thread.

I totally understand your point but the forum used to be fun.

I have never complained about this place going downhill or dying. I hate that myself, because I think it's a self-fulfilling prophecy. Then again, the complaints have been going on for at least four years and the forum's still here, so maybe I'm wrong.

We've gotten into a serious debate before. As long as you're not seriously upset, I'll be glad to debate you again.

Well we have at least half a dozen people who post about every day and several others who post regularly and a few who posts now and again, that do not mean that forum is in that much problem, it seam to be going rather nicely to me.

I agree, the forum is not "doomed", things just seem to have slowed down the last few years. Like I said before I believe the popularity of myspace and facebook have stolen the thunder from ALL online forums.

I think you are right about that, at least Facebook as there is allot of forums right there on Facebook so for many it is more convenient to just talk there.

That is one of the many reasons I avoid facebook like the plague. Its the same on all forums I've been on its "this forum is doomed" or an "in crowd". I like this place though mainly because of the huge range of horror knowledge here that is something to treasure.

I want no part of Facebook, and I think the people who have abandoned HDC, a forum they claim to love, in favor of Facebook should be ashamed of themselves.:p

I use facebook to play vampire wars and catch up with old friends, however there is something eerie about it, I think that it have become overly popular and that people use it to much.

Good point about the doing something. There is something every member of a forum can do to get it's activity up and that is to post, post and post.
