was too lazy to cook porridge .. eggs take too long to boil oh and don't even get me started on the drive through at mac dee's breakfast store...just grabbed the 2 best things in my reach at the time :p 'btw'..waves stoopidly' hello :D |
Things appear to be (ahem!) calming down here a bit, after such a long time of....of, whatever....
|
You see that picture up there, of the Gill Man poster...you see, that's the problem with kids today...they don't have things like that in their breakfast cereal boxes. If we gave them things like that to have fun with, they would be more balanced.
|
I've done that! Yeah, it's a weird way to wake up.
|

How we would rip open the packs and tip all the contents out... after retrieving the toy we would scrape all the cereal back into the box..even the stuff that spilled onto the floor :p |
Now the closest thing to a toy you get in cereal is a watch or those tickets for free movie tickets. Funny story, slightly off topic: few weeks ago my bf was reading a cereal box and went "ha! free adult movie?" but it was for a free movie ticket for an adult.

I also like to cut potatoes jardiniere style, throw on some smokey paprika and a very small amount of salt, and pan fry them in light olive or canola oil until golden. It's something a little like fries, but not quite. You can eat it on its own, or makes a fine addition to an omelette.
Something not mentioned a lot I've noticed in here, one of my favourites... Fresh fruit, varied-grain toasted muesli, and vanilla yhogurt, with a little cinnamon on top. One time, I had a mango Lassi for breakfast, nothing else. Really, it picked me up somewhat. I mean...it was after an allnight out, and at about 11am the next day, but yeah...when you've got a dry throat and you're feeling kinda underslept and dazed, a mango lassi sure goes down well. mmmm....now I want one. |
Quote:
Now I want THAT...Thanks... I don't think I'd care for it with cinnamon though |
I'd usually go with mango, apple, sultanas, peach or all...I guess cinnamon might work for those a little better.
Not blueberries though, can't ever have those...and they're so tasty, I think about just buying a whole bunch and cooking all the blueberry dishes and cold preps that I feel like, and going to eat them up at the hospital....goddamn things... |
Another thing I used to love...I suppose very easy to make, but there was a place near my old work that did them just right.
English muffins, with cheese and tomato (the cheese, just the right type, the tomato, just the right slice width, and just enough freshly cracked black pepper) inside, grilled in a foccaccia press. I used to buy two of 'em for $3AUD, with a double macchiato before a day at work. Now that was a good breakfast. Might go back one day. Also...has anyone mentioned cold (last nights) pizza? Seems a lot of people either hate it or love it, I'm down with the love. Especially the thin base ones, 'cos the dough doesn't get all rock hard and fucked up like some pan bases would. |
I definitely can't eat cold pizza...It has to be really hot, with the cheese all gooey and stretchy, and the crust very soft
On english muffins I like an egg, sausage and cheese |
I can eat it just fine...but....yknow sometimes I'll reheat.
Funny thing is, whether it's cold or microwave reheated, something about pizza seems to get better the next morning... |
Mango lassi.....sounds good for breakfast! Yum, too.
I used to make this thing, this shake in the morning...well, it's really a smoothie, but it's weird. It was a cup or so of milk, one fresh banana, a good rounded teaspoon of instant coffee, and a spoon of rolled oats, all whizzed around in a blender until well liquefied. I invented this one morning and had one every morning for quite some time after that. It's like having your cup of coffee with a bunch of other good stuff mixed in there. |
mmmmmmm..english muffin with cream cheese
and hot chocolate |
i love cold pizza.
Mind you i like most any food cold and drinks ..especially coffee |
Yes cold pizza is good! Not really cold like out of the fridge cold but maybe a little colder than room temperature.
This pizza chopped up and put in an omelet thing...that's just crazy enough to work! Bizarre but definitely interesting. |
I tried this very interesting thing over the weekend..
it was I THINK' some kind of Nigerian dish. It looked weird..it smelled weird but it sure as hell tasted nice. Have you all tasted islander food?? YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!! |

you make me hungry, your always talkin about food.:) another gooooooddddddd breakfast i like it the hashbrown, why is it called the hash brown? beats me. all i know is that it was put here on the planet for you and me, so take advantage man. take advantage.:D |

You know what? Effing god damn! I was gonna make me a yummy breakfast sandwich this morning, had the coffee started and so on, everything was going good.. And then I see the bread is moldy! I bought this bread yesterday! I'm not eating that bread.
|
My number one pet peeve is when I have a craving for something that I know I have and when I got to eat it it's gone bad or someone stole it.
I think it just bugs me cause I get so many complaints about being skinny and when I want to eat my food is gone. |
GRRR...You guys made me hungry again
I just had some ham, eggs and toast :) |
Nothing is better than to start the day with a long glass full of fresh orange juice and toasts, with slices of roasted boiled eggs in-between. Add a mugful of strong coffee to boot and you are ready for your day.:)
|
Healthy
Healthy is the way to go...this morning i ate vanilla yogurt, granola n fresh strawberries!
|
Quote:
snickers and coke' as healthy as you can ever get . |
yeah...snickers bar is four servings from the peanut and chocolate groups...
can of coke is three servings from the pure sugar and caffeine groups. so you're pretty good there. |
I rarely eat breakfast food, but my favorite is crispy sausage links and a stack of fluffy pancakes with butter and maple syrup.
Sausage and syrup....a match made in heaven. |
That's kinda what Agent Cooper says in Twin Peaks..."Nothing beats the taste sensation when maple syrup collides with ham!" I think this was the morning after he had the first dream about the dancing midget, and he was all charged up during breakfast and explaining things very passionately.
|
full english. Bacon, sausages, baked beans, english hash browns (not those american grated ones), fried tomatoes, fried eggs, mushrooms all covered in brown sauce with nice cup of tea.
|
that sounds tasty!
|
sure does..haven't had mushrooms for awhile.
but nothing beats a hot coffee..cooled down to room temperature and burnt toast'. :o I heard the charcol from the toast is good for keeping ure teeth white .. 'flashes her teeth at the screen' :o |
|
yeh, in some countries they brush their teeth with charcoal and tar.
|
mmmmmm
right now em having a plate of wedgies with sour cream and cold coke |
Green tea with jasmine, I love...
Something I thought of that's really nice too, one of my local bakerys sells these things...fresh long bread roll with either chicken or pork (I usually go with chicken) lettuce, grated carrot, spring onion, corriander leaf (cilantro), and finely sliced red chilli. They put a little soy sauce on it too. I guess it sounds a little strange, but it's really very good. A filling, refreshing breakfast, and one of my favourites if I'm out. |
I'm simple. Milk and waffles.
Or Hot Tea and toast. etc, etc, e.t.c. |

One time, I had some very thin, light pancakes with a cointreu chocolate sauce. That there was the goodness. |

I didn't know we were still aloud to talk about food on here?
This morning I broke a three year drought of meat when I cooked some bacon and ate it along side my scambled eggs and tomato. I was stayeing in a cottage in the mountains last night, and they left bacon and eggs in the fridge, I thought, fuck it! I'm paying $180.oo to stay here for the night, I'm eating the bacon! |
