Yep...sure looks like the really cheap crap....meat more processed than dogfood. Definately the second "type" I mentioned.
One of those things you think is the best idea ever when you're drunk.

After last night, I'm really considering giving up booze.

Really trying to cut down on fast food (doing ok with that, wasnt a big fan anyway), fizzy drinks, alcohol, chocolate(that really hurts), generally nice things lol.

Are you in Scotland? The original birthplace of the deep fried Mars bar?

I lived in Edinburgh for a couple of years - saw these on the menu all the time. Along with deep fried pizza - as if pizza isn't bad enough for you already, they then go and deep fry it!

I never tried it, but I was mightily intrigued!

ferretchucker 02-27-2007 07:42 AM

Cheebs probably knows this but haggis is actually lovely. Pretty horrible sounding but really nice. As well as snails, frogs legs, eel jelly, beef pie with eel liquer and most of all. Black pudding. All from near where I'm from. (France, england, scotland) Pretty horrible so-unding but so nice to eat. In angland you'll be lucky to find a pie with fruit other than apple pie. Nearly always meat, gravy and veg.

Phalanx 02-27-2007 08:13 AM

Yeah, had a few of the components of haggis seperately, never prepared it or anything though. Have yet to try black pudding, but it's not alltogether inaccessable to me, so I probably will.
Snails I agree on, frogs legs, sure, most things eel related I quite like though, gotta say what you guys call "jellied" eel looks a bit feral.
But no, not afraid to try any of it really.

The deep fried marsbar is ok...wouldn't eat too many of 'em, it's super rich...but yeah, it's all good, we've had it like 6 years ago, been a while. Best with the mini ones. If you're into that or tenpura stuff, or yknow just generally unhealthy oil saturated stuff, just run out and get one one of those little mini deepfryers, they work fine.

ferretchucker 02-28-2007 09:34 AM

rabbit stew is nice and so is horse meat. I don't agree with viel. Very cruel and doesn't taste all that good.
