Is The Great Khali just a gimmick or what(i don't know much about underground wrestling, WWE is all).

The STE 02-01-2007 09:42 PM

The Great Khali is a giant untalented mess who's killed people in the ring due to his sloppiness

He does not look like he could touch his own toes.Does he fucking bend?He seems very gimmicky to me.Do you like the Boogeyman? That worm shit is gross.

AUSTIN316426808 02-01-2007 09:50 PM

Boogeyman's justa goofy papa shango rip off. Not that Shango wasn't goofy but that's when everybody was a goofy character for the most part.

The STE 02-01-2007 09:52 PM

I think there's a way to use The Boogeyman that could be very entertaining. I've only seen him 4 times, and 3 of them were instances of the way he shouldn't be used. He shouldn't be squashing guys who are supposed to be in world title contention. He should be just making random appearances, doing his thing, and then leaving.

One reason or another, the gimmicks get through and the wrestlers get left behind.

The STE 02-01-2007 09:56 PM

They should just release him so he can go somewhere he'll be used like he should be. Although, I don't really know where he'd go. He might go to TNA, but I don't think he'd be used right there, either. I don't know that he should go back to ROH, since the sendoff he got was perfect. Granted, he did a one-shot since then, so maybe he could do appearances here and there, but not as a permanent spot on the roster. But ROH is the only place I'd see him much. So, I dunno. Let's just start our own wrestling promotion

Sorry to be a newb moron but what is this ROH you keep mentioning?

bwind22 02-01-2007 10:04 PM

ROH = Ring of Honor Wrestling

It's just another wrestling fed like WWE or TNA.

That was the golden age of wrestling. When it actually used to entertain me...

Papa Shango
Million Dollar Man
Mr. Perfect
Undertaker
Ultimate Warrior
Texas Tornado
Andre the Giant
Junkyard Dog
Superfly Jimmy Snuka
Ricky The Dragon Steamboat
Brutus The Barber Beefcake
Bret The Hitman Hart
Legion of Doom
Bobby The Brain Heenan
Earthquake
Hulk Hogan
Ultimate Warrior
Macho Man Randy Savage
Undertaker

Ahhh.... The good ol' days.

I watched WWF from the early/mid 80s all the way up through Stone Cold & The Rock. I was still in to it when Brock Lesnar showed up, but my wife aboslutely HATES it, so I really don't get to watch it that much anymore unless I'm home alone or remember to record it (Which I rarely do.)

Wish I could, don't know much about the buisness end but I think I'd fair well with the creative aspect.

I think they'd put him in the X division. I guess that wouldn't be all that bad since(at least from the limited amount I've seen lately) they seem to have the better matches.

Iron Sheik was cool. Pillman did most of his wrestling in feds other than WWF so I wasn't real familiar with him before he died. Like Eddie Guerrero though, he picked a hotel in Minnesota as his place to croak. Must be something we put in the water up here...

GetrDone 02-02-2007 01:16 AM

The early 80's through the 90's were the best years in wrestling. I haven't watched it in the last couple of years but I still follow up on behind the scene news and whats going on by reading online and stuff. It's gotten real bad lately and just isn't worth watching anymore. I miss the good days of wrestling when it was really family fun and entertaining :(

bwind22 02-02-2007 05:02 AM

Agreed! I still like to flip on Raw or Smackdown whenever I'm able to, but it's only like once every month or two and the last time I did, they spent at least 30 minutes of airtime on a fake Donald Trump vs. fake Rosie O'Donnell storyline. It was fuckin' horrrrrible.

I did see that Great Khali dude though. He's HUGE. Has he literally killed someone in the ring before STE?

The STE 02-02-2007 09:37 AM

Well, it might have been exaggerated, and there's been reports that the other guy did the move wrong (although those same reports say he did the move like he'd always done it and hadn't gotten injured before), but he was at least somewhat involved in a wrestler's death.

Anywho, I think 2000-early 2001 was the best time frame for WWF. From Mankind taking off the mask and shirt to reveal Cactus Jack (still gives me goosebumps), until Steph was announced as the "owner" of ECW, that was quality TV.

Thomasgeorge 02-02-2007 09:53 AM

new disscusion who is u fav diva

bwind22 02-02-2007 09:57 AM

Divas suck. The only one I've ever seen that actually seemed to have her job based on talent and not looks was Lita.

Thomasgeorge 02-02-2007 10:01 AM

has anyone got the vid of sable kissing torrie

Well, she certainly didn't get by on her looks (unless someone in management has a horse-sex fetish), but talent? You mean her one move that she did sloppily every time? Or her ability to give horrible promos in place of her on-air b/f who could cut GOOD promos?

Lita sucked

That was a bad segment but last week the real Donald came on, insulted Vince, and (story wise) dropped money from the ceiling. It was a good build up to a surprise visit by Donald and I think Vince made a good move by getting Trump to appear on WWE television.

I find it a bit disturbing going from half naked men to half naked women in minutes.Divas have no place in Raw or Smackdown(not that I don't enjoy looking at them) they should bring back G.L.O.W. if they want the women to wrestle.I don't so much mind women managers until they start wrestling as well(Melina for example).Sometimes I wanna watch dudes kick eachothers ass and others I want to see a bra and panty match, just not on the same ticket.

Master 02-02-2007 04:19 PM

I haven't been a fan of wrestling since I was a child. It just doesn't do it for me.... Maybe if they were really fighting it would be different, but the fact that everything is rehearsed just takes away all entertainment value for me.

If you've ever studied it and done it you would know that it still takes talent and it still hurts. I think it's great fun, and very entertaining. What about movies? You enjoy movies and yet they're written, rehearsed, and edited.

If its TNA,WWE, or WCW are only entertainment. The other leagues I don't know about.I do respect the training and injuries that these athletes endure to entertain the fans.

Victoria
Molly Holly (again, I think she retired, so that one's iffy)

Pretty much all the other ones are horrible. And since a lot of them had effing Fit Finlay as their trainer (though Molly was trained by Dean Malenko), so that's just inexcusable. But, there's good women's wrestling to be found in Japan.

But, seriously, I get free porn on the internet, I have no need for meaningless T & A (insert TNA pun here) mixed in with my wrestling. If they can't wrestle, then just make them a valet and STOP taking up so much goddamn time with that shit!

sorry buddy....combat zone wrestling(CZW) is alot better than ROH go to youtube and search for czw they have really violent matches using flourecent lightubes and have great cruiserweights...www.czwrestling.com they are in the indie scene and are really cool

Check out UFC, PRIDE, or Rings if you wanna see people fight for real

Sorry, man, I got out of the garbage scene a long time ago. I might watch the occasional BJPW match, but I'm not nearly as into the ultraviolence as I used to be. The only thing I like about CZW is the Briscoes, and I can watch them in ROH.

Are you out of your mind? Fluorescent bulbs don't matter, they pop and smoke but don't hurt at all. CZW have some sloppy matches too. It's like glorified backyard wrestling, watch some Frontier Martial Arts Wrestling if you like big bumps, lots of blood, and crazy gimmicks.

"Anus Explosion death match
The Anus Explosion death match was contested between Mr. Gannosuke and H in Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling on October 29, 1998 in Korakuen Hall. The stipulations of the match stated that, in order to win a wrestler had to put a firecracker into their opponent's rectum, and have it explode. Gannosuke won this contest after bounding H with his hands around a corner turnbuckle, facing the audience."

And FMW had some good wrestlers. Gannosuke was a good brawler, ditto with Tanaka and Mike Awesome, and Hayabusa was a great flyer before the accident.

pinkerton 02-02-2007 05:15 PM

What do you guys think of JCW?I hate ICP but have seen some cool matches.

The STE 02-02-2007 05:17 PM

Well, I happen to like ICP, but even if I didn't like their music, JCW is fucking hysterical. They point out that matches suck, and Sheik's knees being shot, and undercut their own celebrity impersonators ("That's not Hulk Hogan!") and do jokes that totally expose the business, and I love them for it. Though I think the 3rd one isn't nearly as good as the first two.

Bah, another XPW/CZW type fed I think. If I'm going to go out of my way to watch matches I think I'd rather find some from NJPW, BJPW, MPW, FMW, ROH... the list goes on.

The STE 02-03-2007 08:27 AM

No, JCW isn't like XPW or CZW. JCW is comedic. It's bad, sub-indy level wrestling with hilarious fucking commentary.

~Chainsaw~ 02-03-2007 09:23 AM

Does anyone know which federation Jack Evans ended up in eventually?

I've seen him wrestle for both ROH and CZW so I'm confused

his moves are fucking sick! i wish he'd drop the rap shtick and become Jack Evans: the hardcore kid who listens to the Misfits and bloodies his opponents to death

The STE 02-03-2007 09:26 AM

last I heard he was wrestling over in Dragon Gate

~Chainsaw~ 02-03-2007 09:30 AM

hmm...i've never heard of that fed...is it any good?

that seems like a step back. why would he go there? he's such a great talent...

The STE 02-03-2007 09:38 AM

Dragon Gate came out of the dissolving of Toryumon. They've done some cross-promotion with ROH, which produced the aforementioned best match of 2006 at Supercard of Honor

CZW is awesome the tournament of death, best of the best, and cage of death are supreme.....but everyone has their own opinion different strokes for different folks.....i guess when you watch it all the time like i do you get hooked on it....evnetually the violence does get boring but the bumps are insane..BTW have you even been hit with a lightube...how can you say it doesn't hurt...its glass it cuts through skin...and i am shure that the powder of the bulb in old wounds wont feel to good....CZW IS real
