i guess my original question, badly put, was just wondering about the people you don't talk to very often

my example - gorephobia - now let me be clear, i've got nothing against gorephobia - he's cool and all. but it occurs to me that i never actually interact with him like i do with, for instance, VC or urge or haunted. . . its just odd

i think of it like a coffeeshop i used to hang out at all the time - there were a huge group of regulars who were there without fail at the same time everyday. some of them i got to know, hung out with, went to bars and shows with. . . others i never really talked with at all. . . its just kind of funny

its like that seinfeld episode where george and elaine end up going out to a movie without jerry and realize they have virtually nothing to say to each other. . . weird huh

The human being is capable of disregarding information whether or not they can SEE it. Seems the biggest deal about putting someone on ignore up in here is so the ignorer can have the triumphant last words of "Wahhhh! I'm putting you on ignore, so there!" Lame.
However, there are a few people I choose not to interact with, then there's people I just tend not to, for no apparant reason.
