Later in life I plan to temporarily move to either Toronto or Vancouver, to try and stand out among the millions of others wishing to make a name for themselves in film. Successful or otherwise however, I always plan to come back here, I love it. You know you live in a good city when you can walk down the street, beautiful summer day, and hear nothing but a couple birds in the trees. No, I dont live in the boonies. Semi-suburban area, I guess. Not a subdivision or anything, good god no. I can walk to the mall in about 5 minutes:D

WOW...That sounds almost EXACTLY like where I live...Except that OUR mall that we can walk to in 5 minutes, is actually a 15 minute walk...lol...and it's an 'open-air' mall...We have a regular mall that's a 5 minute drive...We're kinda in the middle of 'em....

Anyway, where we live we have the benefits of the city (Cincinnati is a 10-15 minute drive), without the hassle, because we live across the river in Northern Kentucky...Everything's close, we don't even need a vehicle really, we have everything we need within walking distance of us...even Dustin's job...And the Cincinnati airport is a 5 minute drive, too...It's actually located here in Kentucky) everything's nice...But..The people are TOO nice...Dustin says it creeps him out how everyone HAS to talk to someone when they pass them, they'll tell you their life story, and ask you about yours...Everyone acts like they know everyone else, and they have no problem telling you ANYTHING...

Here's just ONE example:

A few months after Dustin moved here, he was still adjusting to the differences (he was used to just being left alone, not talked to by strangers)...We went to Blockbuster to look for some stuff to put in the kids' Easter baskets....We found a few movies and video games, went up to the counter to pay and the cashier looked really upset (yeah, no one tries to hide how they're feeling either)...She said, "I hope you guys are gonna have a nice Easter...Mine's gonna be terrible....All of our holidays get ruined because my mom gets drunk...She fell down the stairs last night, and now she's in the hospital...I'm gonna go visit her after work...She's in pretty bad shape...So, I hope that at least someone can have a good time"...She was kinda half crying through most of this......

And there are much smaller examples like whenever I go to the grocery store without Seri, one of the cashiers at Bigg's will ask, "Where is your daughter...Is she still with that same guy?" and stuff like that...They do it at Meijer's too "How's your family?...I guess you managed to get out by yourselves tonight"....Stuff like that...

Anyway...He's gotten kinda used to it by now...This kinda thing happens all the time...

He read one of our license plates one time when we were at a red light...It says 'Kentucky...It really IS that friendly'...Dustin said, "It should say 'It really IS that creepy'"...lol:)

I have no complaints

I gotta ask where this is located cuz all scientific evidence would seuggest such a place doesn't exist.

BORING!!!

heh...we're in "Misery" I could go on and on and on about how much of a rathole this is (St. Louis was named the most dangerous city in 2004 I believe it was), but I don't have enough character space for one post.

.even Dustin's job...And the Cincinnati airport is a 5 minute drive
I been there! haha, it was funny. We had a 2 hour layover there so we wandered around some. At one end of the airport we asked a man if we were in Ohio or Kentucky, he said we were in Kentucky. We strolled over to the other side of the airport and all of a sudden we were in Ohio...weird.

Nah...You were STILL in Kentucky...The funny part is, when people get off the plane, they THINK they're in Ohio, cuz it's called the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Airport...They only added the 'Northern Kentucky' part a few years ago to help make it less confusing....When you book your flight, it's just listed as 'Cincinnati'...But, Cincinnati is another 10 minute drive away...The reason it was called 'Cincinnati' in the first place, was because that's the nearest big city to us....If someone wanted to fly to Cincinnati, they wouldn't really think to book a flight to 'Erlanger or Hebron Kentucky' (which is where the airport REALLY is)...Know what I mean?

Anyway...You should do it again...We'd come and pick you up:D

Did you notice that the people who actually live here, we're a little too.....'nice'?

Actaully I did. The man we asked when we got off the plane was this sweet old gray haired man. I kinda wanted to hug him, haha.
That's weird tho...we went to a lil restaurant thing on the other side of the airport, and the waiter said we were in Cincinnati....heh, maybe it confused him too:)

Seriously...That wouldn't surprise me......This area is called 'The Greater Cincinnati' area, even though it's in Kentucky...We are also considered to be part of the 'Cincinnati Hub'...A lot of the people that work at the airport are from Cincinnati, too

It's a good place to live..You should move here;)

the fucked up thing about this thread is

as much as I hate Jersey

I am going to defend it.

I go no where with my films here but If I would have grown up somewhere other then NJ I feel that I wouldn't be as cool as I am and as down to Earth as I am right now. Not being stuck up. I am better then no one but I feel that I know how to relate to people and since I have come from a shitty state and city, I can thrive as a person in film and show others that there is a way up.
