I usually classify gore as internal organs and really bloody messes

Posher778 01-03-2006 04:11 PM

dawn of the dead... old version... when the zombies ripped out his stomach was just rotten. not goriest ever, just a gross scene

sleepy hollow was nicely done. at least 12 heads chopped off on screen, and a guy sliced in half, and all that hacking at dead people and what n ot. by todays movie standards, not that gory i guess, but, it was so nicely done and stuff. definently up there

Yeah, it wasn't a bloody mess cause if you remember in the film, they did mention the horseman's sword actually carterized the wounds which explains the lack of splattering blood. :)

lol Yeah, that was a "rotten scene".... literally. I read an article about that movie which stated the pig intestines they used were frozen solid or something like that where dude was to get ripped apart in the hallway. But they had left em out over the weekend, and after the scene was over the cast and crew ran away gagging. :D

knife_fight 01-06-2006 07:31 PM

I'm gonna agree with whoever said the Guinea Pig series and Men Behind the Sun. those are intense. the custard scene in Dead Alive nearly made me gag. the blood-monster in Entrails of a Beautiful Woman, while obviously fake and kinda stupid looking, made me throw my Tomato-Basil salad dressing in the garbage.

and while not a "gore" scene, another scene that nearly made me gag was in Audition when bagged-up-guy eats the vomit.

I guess those are the only ones that have truly grossed me out.

the Cannibal movies rely too much on the viewer being grossed out by animals getting killed and the eating of mystery meat. as you may note to the left, I'm from Bamie, so watching animals getting killed and prepared for a meal is really no big deal for me. sorry, Deo.

kung-fu-jesus 01-07-2006 09:51 PM

Gore Gore Girls is GORY

Whats the definition of "goriest"?? Is it body count, amount of blood in a movie, most disturbing and violent killing scenes??

Thats probobly your safest bet.

VampiricClown 01-08-2006 07:31 PM

Hmmmm.... I haven't seen alot of the movies mentioned here....yet! But so far, from what I've seen, Hellbound: Hellraiser II is quite nasty. I've had to look away a couple of times:( ......And that's a rarity with me.....

musicgeekmusic 01-09-2006 10:02 AM

I'm sure you all know that "Dead Alive" or "Brain Dead," whatever you want to call it, was directed by Peter Jackson, who made The Lord of the Rings and King Kong.

who cares, were talking about gore movies, not peter jackson.

RavageRitual 01-09-2006 03:33 PM

Yea Really

thepsychicfetus 01-09-2006 04:17 PM

peter jacksons "dead alive" for sure,
"the dead next door" was pretty good
"redneck zombies" was pleasant
and i would also say, not as being the goriest, but did have some cool death scenes would be "final destination 2"

musicgeekmusic 01-10-2006 06:13 AM

To Kung-Fu Jesus and Ravage Ritual:

My apologies for throwing out a little information about Peter Jackson and his "gory" movie. I'm sure that it smacked of learning to you, which probably reminded you of those three horrible years you spent in seventh grade.

i say house of 1000 corpses cos ive forgotten all the films ive seen. help me

Tikkin 01-11-2006 03:48 AM

They Dont Cut The Grass Anymore is pretty gory, even though we can tell they are using blow up dolls as bodies and so on. But it's a hilarious film, with the classic line: "Please dont rape me!" - "I aint gonna rape you bitch, you smell like fish, ah never did like seafood".

Juicy Jon 01-11-2006 08:17 AM

Not that I've seen it.. but Premutos - Lord of the Living Dead sounds pretty promising. I think it atleast has one of the biggest bodycounts at like 180.

most disturbing and violent killing scenes??
Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (most of the murders)
Henry 2: The Mask of Sanity (the killing in the bed)
A Short Film About Killing (the murder of the taxi driver, and the subsequent execution)
Casino (the head-squashing/eye-popping, and particularly the baseball bat and buried alive scenes)
One False Move (the stabbing of the bound woman by the black guy)
Chopper (the multiple neck-stabbing in the jail)
Saving Private Ryan (the shockingly protracted stabbing of the marine by the German soldier in the building)
Reservoir Dogs (the casual shooting - after torture - of the bound cop)
Nightmares in a Damaged Brain (the horrible axe-chopping of the mother and father during their S&M scene)

musicgeekmusic - Q: Who's Peter Jackson?

the scene of the soldier on the beach trying to pick up his arm is going to stay with me for a while ..

Darkwalker

liebesspiel 01-28-2006 05:35 PM

The Last House on the Left, The Evil Dead, A Nightmare On Elm Street and Bloody Murder 2: Closing Camp.

Skaboy 01-30-2006 03:51 AM

If we're literally looking for "biggest splatterfest", then my vote would go to Braindead / Dead Alive: so ridiculously over the top as to be hilarious.

For notorious, graphic or grisly death scenes, either the fire extinguisher in Irriversible or the "cheese cutter" device in Cube: the first casualty.

Tikkin 01-31-2006 12:40 AM

They Dont Cut The Grass Anymore is pretty gory, but they use sex dolls as bodies so not very realistic!

So I agree that Braindead (Dead Alive) is probably the goriest.
