I too have to go with Devils Rejects. High Tension was a good movie but that plot twist at the end has just been done to death by now. Really tired of that shit. Plus, High Tension didn't end with Free Bird.:D

The Mothman 01-04-2006 06:26 AM

High Tension originally came out in 2003, it was just released in america in 2005 so i guess Devils Rejects takes the cake. Bunch of great non-horror movies this year too

History of Violence
Four Brothers

well... the best overall movie of 2005... was easily, without any doubt.

Batman Begins.

Ok, well you do have some taste man. I wouldnt go so far as to say it was the best of 05 [Sin City or Crash], but it was def. a great movie.

Posher778 01-04-2006 09:11 AM

oooh i forgot about crash. That was a must see. Yes i liked sin city just as much as everybody else, but batman takes the cake because, if you've seen any other superhero movie, new or old, they don't even begin to compare

About time

I had high hopes for Emily Rose; and the possision parts were frightning or, could have been. I watched the directers comments on the film and, he did just what he set out to do. But court room drama, Gag! Not for me. Thank god, the possision seans did not go hollywood, they kept it real but, they could have punched it up some. Man, did I just contradict myself?

I feel the exact oposite. In my opinion, it suffered for every moment spent outside of the courtroom. But this is coming from someone who'd put Runaway Jury as one of his favourite movies;)

RavageRitual 01-04-2006 07:55 PM

I posted this under YellowJacket's Best of 2005 Poll Thread, but then decided it would be much more appropriate here. So after much thought here is my last and final favorites of 2005 list

1) Devil's Rejects

brick... where did you get that hand grenade?

i...dont...no...

Sick_As_Fuck 01-09-2006 06:04 PM

In a year that greatly lacked good movies, and even though it was much different than the first and completely strayed away from the first's plot, "Devil's Rejects" easily gets my vote as #1.
