From Dusk Til Dawn

I hated it so much my toes curled up.

Can I just ask why?

I didnt like this one much either, but, not the worst. I really hated House of 1000 Corpse, the scene in the cave or whatever it was, i think ruined the whole movie. I also didnt like Scarecrow or Bloodymurder, bad acting!!

Jacob Singer 11-28-2005 12:15 PM

Maybe Dagon or Faust 'cause both films are the biggest shit I ever saw

hard to say - i think two reasons: 1) i've felt for quite some time that Quentin Tarantino is overrated (and his hype was unrelenting at the time) and 2) i thought the film twisted and turned without rhyme or reason and had a level of heartlessness (what a weird criticism on a horror forum) that i wasn't prepared for. I mean, Henry: POASK is a heartless film - but in a way that makes a deep and resonating (if disturbing point) but FDTD was heartless and pointless. I think, for me, the rape/slaughter scene near the beginning was harsh - but then the film became a cartoon and I couldn't feel sorry for QT's character (even though I felt the film was portraying him as a protagonist). - oh, and I generally hate George Clooney (although Goodnight and Good Luck was BRILLIANT).

and, Maggie is right ( as always), House of 1000 Corpses is dreadful - but I chalk that up to incompetence rather than heartlessness.

Fair enough...at least you have reasons, and therefore you're perfectly entitled to hate it. I enjoyed it, though.

And I'm a House of 1K Corpses fan. :) I love it.

So I suck... shoot me in the head.

I was gonna argue with you on FDTD, but after the GN&GL bit, I can't argue with this post

Napoleon Dynamite was SOOOOOOOO over-rated. A few funny quotes does not a great movie make. I was thinking back to the past few months and I'd say either Undead or Wild Zero... but I think Wild Zero dissapointed me because I had high hopes for it. I think maybe it would have been better if my friends hadn't hyped it so I've come to the realization that the worst movie I've seen all year is either Undead or Dead End (heh, threw that one in last second didn't I?).

Oh, and Zero... you really felt QT's charecter was portrayed as the/a protagonist? Interesting point of view.

Amalthea 11-29-2005 02:30 AM

I agree about Dungeons & Dragons!

Elvis_Christ 11-29-2005 02:49 AM

From Dusk Till Dawn was a great film.

I liked Freddy vs Jason aswell.

I thought they were good fun.

Haunted 11-29-2005 04:04 AM

I liked from Dusk til Dawn. It was a camp vampire flick, but it was entertaining. I'll tell you what I hated: Natural Born Killers... that movie was ridiculously stupid. Maybe it's because I watched it stoned in a shitty theatre, or maybe I had my period, I don't know. I just know that half way through the picture, I was like, this is shite. I wanna go home. The concept was decent, but the characters sucked.

PR3SSUR3 11-29-2005 07:13 AM

Hmmm, I'm beginning to think Zero doesn't like surprises!

:p

That From Dusk 'Till Dawn is not on rails and might hit you with its own brand of immoralities is its virtue. Tarantino (in probably his finest performance, and he is indeed a nasty bastard in this murderer/sex offender role) is certainly not the protagonist in this picture; the (predominantly male) audience is most likely to identify with George Clooney, who - let's face it - is undeniably fucking cool as the less psychopathic Seth Gecko (from his fine handling of Tarantino's one-liners to that awesome tattoo).

From Dusk 'Till Dawn is wreckless and, again, with a killer unpredictable twist - this kind of thing had never been done before, and was a welcome change from the usual hip crime thrillers or splashy vampire epics of the time.

By fusing these genres together in the same movie in such a bold and confident fashion, Rodriguez challenged his audience... I for one bought it hook, line and sinker.

Boat Trip with Cuba Gooding jr. It's a sloppy running gay joke with no rewards.

I only made it five minutes watching "vampire assassin". pretty close to the worst I've seen. Perhaps someone should create an mystery science theatre 3000 for horror flicks?

filmmaker2 12-12-2005 07:27 AM

House of the Dead sucks pretty bad, but what a fun kind of awful it is.

alkytrio666 12-12-2005 10:03 AM

Finally saw Frankenfish. that was pretty fuckin' bad.

a possessed lamp...puhlease!!

That'd be part 4 dude! I bought it for about $5 bucks. Worst five bucks I've ever spent! I'm with you all the way about the whole possessed lamp thing.

Anyway, Shapeshifter {2005} was definitly the worst horror movie I've ever seen. Followed closely by Ghost Lake.

MisterSadistro 12-13-2005 07:03 PM

Worst movie I've seen was 'The Baby'. It sounded like it would have some creepy moments, but the entire film was laughable and it had the worst ending ever imagined. I did save pics from it of the one sister's hair since it may single-handedly have been responsible for ending the 70s :D

Well, the funny thing is, I thought that "Don't fool with Nicoletty!" was hilarious and random when I saw it graffitied on those walls so I decided to see if there was any meaning to it. It was from "Escape From New York" starring Kurt Russell! It was pretty bad, but that's why it was so good!

have you seen Darkness though?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0273517/

it really is the worst horror movie of all time, I don't know if it can be argued even.

Yes, I own it...In fact, I have to own every horror movie I can gain access to...It's a sickness, really

I had Killjoy and Dark Harvest 2, as well...I threw those in the garbage, but Darkness is still in my guest room...I honestly don't believe anything could be worse than the aforementioned two.

Clockwork Black 04-13-2009 05:29 PM

:( I own all three.

All three of those are in fact horrible. House of the Dead, Scarcrow Slayer, and Boogyman are up there with them though. Of down there, depends on how you look at it.

oh yes - it can be argued.

i've seen - own - far far worse.

My least favorite is Stanley. I'm sure there are those here who think it's cool, but I can't bring myself to enjoy it.

Ugh. I think I'll agree with you on this one.

I saw that movie in theaters on Christmas Eve.

Needless to say, I no longer celebrate Christmas.

Doc Faustus 04-14-2009 07:22 AM

Also, the films of Todd Sheets. Dominion is probably one hundred times worse than Darkness.
