Have you seen his "The king of comedy"? Any good?

Sadly, the last Asian film I saw was Infection, which is quite aptly named, since it's gooey, pustulent and gets worse as it goes on.

Kung Fu Hustle

Despare 09-25-2005 08:26 PM

they're not bad, but just heroes/curry and pepper are action/heroic bloodshed films and stephen chow isn't an action star.

my hero was bad

god of gamblers 2 was ok, but not a scratch on the classic film with chow yun-fat

"Battle Royale"...pretty good.....but the ending needed more work

Premonition. Good flick that successfully avoided the Japanese horror cliches. Hiroshi Mikami gives a very subdued and effective performance as the lead. I usually don't focus on this aspect in movies, but the moody, ominous score is quite fitting and well done. 7/10

Oldboy. Sheer awesomeness. I can't even remember the last time I enjoyed a movie this much. Okay, so I did see the big twist at the end coming from near the beginning, but oddly enough it didn't decrease the impact of the reveal at all. The scene where Dae-su attacks all those guys with the hammer is pure poetry. 9/10

Agreed. The hallway fight scene is made even more amazing by the fact that it's one big take, no cutting. And I liked what they did with the villain.

****1/2
