Arioch 01-18-2004 02:16 AM

Ya i didnt either . Superjoint's alright, but they're sure no pantera ya know. Pantera has a certian chemistry.

Arioch 01-18-2004 07:39 PM

Digital Murders 01-19-2004 04:50 PM

Superjoint is horrible live, I didn't like them. So I'm not really inspired to buy anything of theirs.

Awesome stuff. You sound like you'd fit real well on Estrus Records...

Check out my band if you could!

www.CalabreseRock.com

Thanks!

knife_fight 01-20-2004 03:59 AM

hey, your calabrese website looks really good. I couldn't get the "listen" link to work though....

also, the Estrus thing is a great compliment (to me at least). I like most of the bands on that label and know many of them personally. plus Dave Crider who does the label is just a pretty totally dood. thanks!

G-$ 01-20-2004 09:13 AM

Hey im a horrorcore artist. i have an ep coming out in a couple of weeks thats gonna be given away for free on the net (original cover art and all). I also have a track on The Monthly Menstruation, a compilation disc put out by www.Faygoluvers.net and www.SerialKillas.net and i have some other hip things in the works.

thats has a little worse quality sound, but i still had it up on the net

Arioch 01-20-2004 03:11 PM

Nice to see weve gotten some more activity in this thread, its good to see bands getting together and workin on shit like this.

Which one digital? the one i did for bloodrayne? ya that one is pretty mellow. Try the one in the sig for what my BAND will sound like when i get some good musicians backing me.

moonsorrow 01-20-2004 03:15 PM

im working on my first solo project but im missing some heavy riffs, anyone eager to play something for me? i dont know notes though so il have to give you the info sex pistols style...

Wow, just...wow.

What did you use for that? That is really good.

Wow man thx. You liked it that much? Thx alot man, i know your one of the guys on this board that tells it like it is pretty much, so you saying that is a huge compliment to me. Thx alot.

I used a boss br1180 with a built in cd burner. I was actually really worried about usin it since its kinda an all-in-one digital recorder and i was worried it wouldnt have the sound quality to match some computer programs like Protools, and Q-base etc. But it came out alright huh? I was really suprised. Best $1000 i ever spent.

But seriously thanks for the positive criticism digital.

Hey moon, i can do heavy riffs all day long. But punk is the easiest thing in the world, if you want that. (im talkin real punk, not pop/punk bullshit but you knew that).

Id be all about doin some shit with you man, just tell me what your lookin for, ill download it, and see what i can do. Im getting pretty good at emulating other styles.

Digital Murders 01-20-2004 03:56 PM

No problem, seriously with just using that stuff, it actually sounds like you have a band. Sounds really good. If you could fix the quality a tad, then it would sound just about perfect.

Ah well anyway. I checked out that band that posted a reply to my ad, and they're fucking great.

Just imagine Arioch's music, but faster.

Yeah, I think they're the key I need. But there's one more I wanna check out which I'll have to do over the weekend.

So, to get a bit indepth, what do you play, and what positions are you tryin to fill? Are you looking to join a band, or are you trying to find musicians to join yours?

Just wondering

Well since I backed out of the one I made awhile back, I've been looking for a new one. I used to play guitar in my other band, but for the one I want to be in now, I'm singing.

Nice, im the exact opposite. I used to sing and be the front man of our old band, but now i wanna focus on guitar and do back up vocals, and i gotta find the right person to be the frontman of our band.

Its frustrating tho, trying to find the right musicians for your specific project. Im sure you can relate.

And how.

When I started my other band, a friend and I were doing it. He was playing bass, and I had lead guitar and backing vocals.(I was going to be the original vocalist, but I changed for some reason) Well it was harder than hell to find anyone that lived near me, because everyone that played the shit we needed I either hated, or they didn't like the music that I need.

Eventually we found some really young kid at my school who had the exact same taste, and he was really good for being 15. Then he knew a singer, and we used him. Then I found a drummer months later. From there it went pretty good. We played at a lot of places. But then our bassist was getting lazy and didn't seem to want to do anything anymore, although he wouldn't admit it. Nobody but the singer and I were trying to keep the band together.

So we played this huge show new years eve, and then after that I told them it's over. And they all agreed. Plus the music wasn't exactly what I was expecting it. I think it was what I expected when we first started playing, but eventually I started getting into more Death/Gore/grindcore metal. So there you have it.

thanks arioch, im a little bussy but i think il be able to tell you what i want by the end of the week or something... il keep this in mind, so i owe you, if you want anybody dead just let me know...i owe to many dead people to this forum.
its for a metal song though, not to much into punk anymore.

Arioch 01-21-2004 02:17 AM

nice, honestly im much better at metal than i am at punk. The solid rhythm thing always tends to bore me. Im more into syncipated rhythms and riffs than solid chords for 8 bars ya know:rolleyes:

LOL punks so lame

Flame me guys, come on, you know you wanna

Hey, I'm new here, bla bla, read all about it in the New Member Lounge..

I've listened some of the mp3's posted in this thread, and I think
longinus-neveragain_instro is the best one so far (out of the 6 songs I've downloaded).

Arioch; what kind of equipment/progs did you use to record it?

Here's my contribution:

Catonium - Marching Into Metropolis
Catonium - Morose Spirits

I've got more stuff, if anyone is interested?

Yeah, that's the mixer / portable recording studio, I know.. How about the rest of the stuff, eh?

Arioch 01-27-2004 12:25 AM

a schecter s-1+ 6 string that i LOVE, a piece of shit (and i cant emphasize that enough) ibanez Soundgear bass, a Boss drummachine, i cant remember which one. Its alright. and a Roland XP-30 synthisizer. The only ones im really happy with are the recorder and the schecter:o

mudsliptones 01-27-2004 12:36 AM

punk is infact easy on the guitar part, you just need a fast right hand to pick the strings

but the drum is hard to perform so fast, it's a typical high noted drumstyle
nothing like metal

my equipment is
a BCRich warlock platinum
and Peavy bandit 112 pro amp

that's it, basic, hardcore metal playing shit
maybe if our band gets somehwre Im gonna buy a pedal, but not just yet

JRole 01-27-2004 10:49 AM

Arioch; the links should be working now.. :)

I mostly use software, and some hardware synths, drummachines & regular instruments, such as guitar & bass.. Mostly depending on what project I'm working with, and what we're aiming for.

I've thought about getting a BCRich custum, but I've never had the chance to try them out..
mudsliptones; you're happy with your BC, eh?

fuck yeah, of course it's the platinum version, I'm sure the NJ series are waaay better
but I love by BCRich, if metal is your thing, then this guitar owns
and together with my peavy amp it cuts like a chainsaw

Evisceration 01-27-2004 01:13 PM

I'm a fuckin fast ass motherfucker on the drums. I love playing. Especially when you can incorperate the double bass pedals.....I always say that you can never get enough DBP in a song.

As I Lay Dying has some crazy DBP action, that band has some crazy drumming.

But since I don't have a drumset anymore, well I can't play it in a band. But usually I mess around with my bands drumset, I love playing.

Nice Jrole, you got some crazy drums in there. I personally would pull the guitars up a bit in the mix, but thats just me. I mean you can hear in all my shit that im a guitarist and being the most secure in my guitar playin, im most likely to keep them above everything else. Maybe i just need to become a better drummer.....

Nice shit tho, im gonna back track the thread and listen to the other 2 you posted. Think they are workin yet??

I just played around with my instruments & progs in that song, and didn't spend much time mixing it.. I just wanted to try out the drums, and that's why they're so loud compared to the rest of the instruments..
Hehe, yeah, ppl tend to mix their main-instrument louder than the other instruments..

The other songs should be up & working now too.. And don't expect them to sound the same, hehe...

Do you have more songs online, btw?
I've got "neveragain_instro", "noodle" & "soundtrack" so far..

Has anyone in here tried the Line6 Variax-guitars yet?
I've heard they're totally amazing (the mp3's sure are), but I've never had the chance to try them out myself.. :
