Dead Birds is very scary. They keep the dark effect on you the whole movie too, sometimes you cant even see what's happening... and that damn kid under the bed... wow..
|
Some of the ones that actually bothered me were
The Exorcist The Evil Dead The Shining A Nightmare on Elm St. 3 Suspiria you guys probably think i'm a pussy, oh well. any movie that has some kind of possession in it usually freaks me out pretty bad. |

its a cool film, a psychological mind-fuck.. if you liked session 9, flatliners, and the jacket, you'll dig this film. |
what about
Les Yeux Sans Visage Jaws- you know how many people stopped going to the beach after this came out. |
jaws is scary, but not really psychologically.
|
The Blair Witch Project
The Shining My Little Eye Dark Water (Nagata) Dead End 'Salem's Lot (Hooper) (which I keep dreaming about... fucking bald vampire on my case, stupid drugs) The Others Raising Cain You've Got Mail 2: Spam Hell |

have you seen The Other ... based on the Tom Tryon novel ? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069050/ hard to find but amazing ...(at least it was last time i saw it many years ago) |
I hadn't heard of it, but it certainly seems held in high regard by reviewers so I'll get it from Shady Derek's Hard To Find Videos.
Speaking of so-called scary films, have you seen Let's Scare Jessica To Death? I've sat through it twice now and while the film isn't without one-or-two eerie moments (the person in the lake), I thought it not much worthy of its classic status. |

i cant remember a single thing about it. |
Something about driving around in funeral cars, making gravestone-rubbings, and a lot of folk pretending to be vampires or something.
Does anyone have an in-depth analysis of this film, and why it apparently works on a scary level? |
The Woman in Black; 'nuff said.
|
"The Descent" - soon to be released by Lion's Gate.
It's from the creators of "Dog Soldiers". I screamed my head off - scariest thing I've seen in a theater since "Aliens". This movie is brilliant and coming soon! |
I'm 14, And have been watching them since I was 3 or 4
Older movie--- The Last House on the Left & the Thing Newer Movie--- I thought Amityville Horror 2005 was scary for a remake |
I haven't seen a horror film in years that actually scared me but i know that the first time I ever watched Nightmare on Elm Street Pt 1 i didn't sleep for like a week. It's still one of my all time favourites. Hellraiser's pretty good aswell, the first three are all good. The first Candyman scared the shit out of me when i was younger. Saw was good for a recent film.
Actually watch The Grudge, but you have to watch it on your own and really really late at night, that got me a bit. Watched The Dentist, now i'm scared of going to the dentist EVER again if that counts. |
Im 18, ones that have scared me moreso then having a great storyline are:
The Amytaville Horror (Remake) The Hills Have Eyes (Remake) Juon 1/2, or The Grudge and some parts in Dead birds, well they didnt make me scared, but they were the suspenseful ones that made me jump, the CandyMan also had me jumping in a few spots, but the ones i mentioned made me jump quite often or feel in suspense. |
