Cheeba touched on it, but remaking asian horror is hard because you're basically remaking a culture. It's hard to remake the feel of those movies because they're made in accordance to the ideals of that culture. Ju-On deals with the problems with family and the definition of "home" in Japanese culture. In comparison, "The Grudge" is about ghosts.

American audiences don't rely on that as much, most US audiences just want scares to jump out and punch us in the face. That's why its always weird to transfer... except The Ring (I felt) made a great transition to American audiences.

It's "good", not "goog" you jerkoff.

Everyone hates you and they talk ill-will about you behind your back.

:D

A Tale Of Two Sisters leads the pack for me. Give it a whirl.

And I'm against any remakes, no matter where they're from....

let's just hope they don't mess with Audition. You know they would tone down the last 15 minutes.

No way...Not in THIS day and age..if ANYTHING...they'd catch up the REST of the movie to go along with the last 15 minutes, which in my opinion, was the best part of the entire movie...Well, that thing in the bag was pretty cool, too ;)

bloodrayne 06-19-2005 02:20 AM

OOH...And I just noticed that the picture you posted would make a great avatar...Especially since the ones that are available on this site are TERRIBLY played out...

So...If ya want it...This will fit:

WaitxUntilxDark 06-19-2005 02:20 AM

wtf that wouldn't be better. if they did that you wouldn't have the shock of the nice girl suddenly showing her true form. the rest of the film might be a little boring but that's what makes it a brilliant film.

bloodrayne 06-19-2005 02:22 AM

LMAO...Looks like you were one step ahead of me ;)

WaitxUntilxDark 06-19-2005 02:23 AM

thx for the pic i like it better than my version because this way she's pointing to the message :)

No No...I didn't mean about HER specifically...I meant the whole film in general...Liven it up a little bit...Make more things happen...Add a few suspicions that make you wonder about her a little BEFORE the end...Well, we actually do get ideas along the way...Just give it a little more life (so that people like me don't start falling asleep in the middle of it)...:)

WaitxUntilxDark 06-19-2005 02:38 AM

oh yah i understand. it took me two days to watch it. i only heard of it through bravo's 100 scariest movie moments (it got numer 11, but it should have got the number two moment just behind ,my name.) so i recorded from sundance film channel(i got it from ebay, but it came from a girl in hong kong so i couldn't watch it because of the region difference.) and i started watching at night for effect. But i waited forever and just decided to go to sleep since i got bored so i see what you mean. oh yeah and if you recomend it to anyone make sure they don't skip to the torture scene because it did that and it didn't get scared then i watched the whole thing and i had to close my eyes at parts that i originally yawned at.
A few good horror sites.

Recommend it?..haha...I actually gave mine away to one of the members here at this forum...It was just too slow for me...

It was really nice 'meeting' you...I must say that you seem very mature for your age, and you should make a fine addition to this forum...As long as you can 'take the heat'...These guys get a little psycho sometimes, but it's all in fun...usually..heh

I gotta go make dinner for my Sweetie now...I'll catch ya later:)

Wouldn't do any good...This one WAS a faster one...But, Seri keeps filling it full of crap...She'd do the same thing with a new one...I just gotta deal with it...OR...Maybe I could just get a new Seri :D

WaitxUntilxDark 06-19-2005 03:07 AM

well that rminds me
Elen Degeneres was talking about how people say bad things then say just kidding like it erases it.she said that "when someone says that she says oh really then your not very good at kidding because we should both be laughing."
haha i scare little kids.

OH...But now I REALLY gotta go...

Later

WaitxUntilxDark 06-19-2005 03:15 AM

i know it's slow but i would never trade it because it is the only movie that makes me scared as if i was 5 years old. i haven't seen a movie that has done that to me. that doesn't mean i haven't been scared. the scene from wait until dark had me jumping 5 feet in the air. my friend shemica had to cover her mouth because she had just drank pop and the scene happened and the pop came out of her mouth. oh and two scarey video games that genuinly scared me were Resident Evil 4 and Clock Tower 3. The problem with clocktower 3 was it got repetitve fast and having to collect items while being chased was too hard.

WaitxUntilxDark 06-19-2005 03:35 AM

watch these they're very funny.

Yeah, that's the part where youve gotta not SUCK at games...
!BURN!

WaitxUntilxDark 06-19-2005 03:39 AM

i do agree about adding a little more to keep interest but i don't think they should add to much because then you would be used to the scares and by the time the ending happened you would be like "so what" but yes they should have added maybe a few dream sequences of foreshadowing or a jump scene or two just to add something to keep your attention but other than that it's still a brilliant film.

WaitxUntilxDark 06-19-2005 03:40 AM

oh you biotch. i don't suck at games i would wup your ass at halo 2.

WaitxUntilxDark 06-19-2005 04:15 AM

since few people are posting messages on my thread i mention them here. my scariest moments are:
ok now to save this thread you can say your top ten scariest moments or scariest movies.
My scariest movies are:
1. Audition
2. Wait Until Dark
3. Texas Chainsaw massacre
4. The Shining
5. Psycho
6. Misery
7. Cujo
8. When a Stranger Calls
9. Suspiria
10. Halloween

and my moments are:
1: Wait Until Dark: When the movie is almost over and audery hepburn has stabbed alan arkin an can't open the door so she mutters "the window" so you think she's safe and the movie is about to be over, then out of nowhere alan arkin jumps out from a darkened room and leaps onto her. i went six feet in the air and my friend shemica covered her mouth as she spat out pop.

2: Audition: the reason it's lower this time is because it doesn't have a certain scene that's scarier than wait until dark but the whole movie is scarier. The scene i would pick is her vomiting into a bowl and feeding in to the guy she has dismembered.

3: Carrie: i wasn't scared but, only because i listened to the comentary of another movie mention it. but from what i have heard i am putting it here.

4: Misery: she F#!%ing hit his foot with that hammer.

5: The shining: The "here's johhny" moment but only because shelly duvall portrayed fear that transended to the viewer.

6: Cujo: When cujo jumps on the screen on the opposite side you think he will. you think he'll go for the mother but he goes for the window.

7: When a Stranger Calls: When the police say "jill we've traced the call... it's coming from the upstairs phone, we need you to get out of the house as soon as possible." my eyes got as big as carrie's and i had to hold myself as she tried to get across the house unnoticed.

8: Halloween: i want to say two for this one. The moment at the end where you think everything is alright then you see him get straight up. it wouldn't be nearly as scary if he had his back a little arched, the fact that it was completely straight somehow made it creepier. but anyway as he gets up your like, "noooo.. look behind you run!!!!" The other moment is when michael is in the ghost sheet and the girl is like f@#$ you and makes a call and the chase scene music plays as he slowely comes toward her without her knowing scared me because it's kind of like those separation moments except she didn't know he was coming.

9: Freaks: the ending chase scene was one of the most suspenseful hollywood has ever produced.

10: Friday 13th: I hate to put this movie on my list but the opening scene is scary because you can see it through ms. voorhees's eyes and you see the fear of the girl just throwing those boxes trying to stay alive genuinly scared me.

I think you DO suck at games...I hated Halo, why would I play #2?
Get into CS source, C.O.D, U.T, something along those lines, then we'll talk about ass kicking.
Anyways, I was just tryin' to get you riled up...never played clock tower 3 m'self, but the series DOES have a history of being very frustrating, I will give you that. I still say there's not MANY games I can't finish...
Nice to meet another game player anyway...check out the games area, post some new threads.

WaitxUntilxDark 06-19-2005 04:27 AM

i ment i made the thread i mentioned but one person is talking and the only tough games i have found tough were devil may cry 3, ninja gaiden, and jade empire's battle system was so easy it didn't give you a lot of choice so battling people who had projectile weapons was hard.

WaitxUntilxDark 06-19-2005 05:22 AM

are you done with your whore. or is he whoring it up by dancing in front of you in a thong. you sicken me, you know. he will do just what asami yamazaki did.
oh and people say audition is the japanese equivolent(i think that's how you spell it) of fatal attraciton on steroids mixed with redbull.

it's the weekend, people are off work, busy with DIY, kids, family, relatives, getting drunk, having a bbq, going shopping and everything else that's done on a weekend....

so yeah wait till later.
