A lot of people say that but I just found it weak especially compared to Romper Stomper or Pariah, those characters were more real and gritty and portrayed the reality of what that culture would be like in reality.

which is exactly why they have to run the story as well, people know the story is on other news shows but they just wait until the one they regularly watch comes on to hear about it but if they decide not to run the story then they'll lose that viewer for the night and most likely alot more then if they continue to neglect the celebrity stories then they could lose said viewers for good and they can't afford to let that happen.

So just like I said before you really can't blame them for running the story, it's their job to get ratings and make money and when they run those stories that's all they're trying to do.

It's like telling a carpenter that they shouldn't make a certain style of chair because you don't like it while the majority on the other hand does, you couldn't blame him if he continued to make that particular style of chair because all he's doing is trying to make a living.

Having never seen Romper Stomper, I will say this....I think there are probably many different "realities" of the culture. Meaning, there are probably may different types of personalities involved. They wouldn't all mold into one stereotype. That's why I like American History X because it showed clearly that some people just lose their way. Sometimes hate comes from very unexpected people and unexpected places.

But no one in Georgia is watching the local news at noon for updates on Russell Crowe's behavior. It is supposed to be about serious news and that is not serious news. It was a slow news day, that is all. Because I do not hear about every other celebrity arrest on my local news, in fact, it was the first one I ever heard about on that station that didn't happen in the state. So if they are supposed to be keeping up with these stories to keep viewers, well they are falling sadly behind....lol....

Of course, I did hear an awful lot about Ben Affleck for awhile there....:rolleyes: But he did happen to be in the state at the time, so that kind of made sense.:D

Well obviously you know more about your local news than I do I was just giving the explanation that best fit the discussion but if it was a slow news day(which in this wonderful world we live in I don't know how there could be such a thing) and they usually don't do those stories then I guess I can see why you were upset(for lack of a better word) about it.

We had a bunch of skinheads live down the road from us a few years ago. One guy had a Swastika on his tattoed on his cheek & Nazi on his forehead and was built like Schwarzenegger. We were nearly always drinking because it was our first time out of home and these guys would see us and want to join the party. Kinda scarey because I was young but now I'd probably tell them to fuck off nowdays. It was quite funny one night seeing three or four carloads of skins with shitloads of dope plants in the back with them.... real smart :rolleyes: I'm suprised they weren't pulled over.

I don't know if this has been cleared up yet, but Romper Stomper is AUSTRALIAN, not british. It is set in the Melbourne suburb of Footscray, which is in the inner west.

Where it was filmed is really irrelivant to whether it was good or not and where the hell did you just pull British from nobody even started the conversation of where it was much less came out and said it was British.
