Halloween #1, is definately the winner as far as I'm concerned. I agree with the statement, that the filmmakers took the popular ingredients from the first movie and cranked it into overdrive.

The #2 sequel do have its qualities, the body count for one (if you're into that stuff...), but it lacks the mystery and the creepiness of the first movie. In the first one you didn't KNOW who Michael was really - or atleast not the full extent of it.

The finale with Jamie Lee's "lucky shots" with the gun was intense and all, but still... can't beat the end in #1. Also, it was great to see Donald Pleasance take a more "active" part in the sequel, as opposed to the first movie where he pranced around, scaring people up and more having a storytelling function. Naturally though, HE wasn't supposed to be the hero, Jamie Lee Curtis was - so that might explain that.

Honestly I would out both 1 and 2 in the same because it is just a continuiation. Plus I for one loves halloween 3 actually it is one of my favorites. I don't know why. bought back good memories I guess.

before "halloween resurrection"...although both suck... "Resurection" suck big time.....ok her is my list :

1. halloween

2. halloween 4

3. halloween 2

4. halloween h2o

5. halloween 6

6. halloween 5

7. halloween resurrection

8. halloween 3

(although halloween 3 is a better movie than halloween 5 and halloween resurrection....Micheal Myers is missing..thats why)

Do all the new titles come out on laserdisk ? Or those it come any title at all ?

Halloween.

Halloween II was good, really good actually for a sequel, but it didn't have that atmosphere...the creepy neighborhood edge was really scary in the first one. II just takes place in a hospital.

I thought the atmosphere was pretty much the same, there's no real huge difference in anything imo Halloween is just a better film.
