Tapeworm wins! YAy! I think....

Now, which one has beeter camoflauge?

http://www.kudalaut.com/biology/Hystrio.jpg
A Sargassum Fish

Vs.

A Cuttlefish

http://www.ticam.utexas.edu/~pgm/div...cuttlefish.jpg

Fyis to help with your decisions. Sargassum fish have details that make them look EXACTLY like the Sargasso Seaweed they live in (they are related to Angler FIsh)

Cuttlefish have Chromatophors, which are skin cells fille dwith color that are directly linked to their brain. they can change into color patterns more complex than a human can create, and can even change their skin texture to mimic their background. They are also at least as smart as a dog.

urgeok 02-14-2005 05:47 AM

s'true .. i was snorkling in Cuba an 3 of the goofy little buggers were swimming right along side of me .. the exact colour of the sand ... i just though thats what colour they were.

good eatin too !

ChEEbA 02-14-2005 07:16 AM

Not only has the cuttlefish got the ability to camouflage by colour almost instantly, it can do so over multiple textures and surfaces, while moving.
Also, there is NO better mimic than the cuttlefish....well, not in the sea anyway.
Stick insects and those thorn shaped moths/bugs that look like leaves n shit would probably be a close second, but none of them are remotely as "versatile"...
This thing can immitate other fish in motion ,for fucks sake.

No contest.

Vodstok 02-14-2005 07:57 AM

urgeok 02-14-2005 09:55 AM

Vodstok 02-14-2005 09:56 AM

Sure look slike it in that pic :)

i remember it looking like a fat monkey.

urgeok 02-14-2005 09:58 AM

i loved the funny little fucker in the movie version ... he was a partier :)

Vodstok 02-14-2005 10:10 AM

That thing terrified me as a kid, bad enough that i still get uncomfortable seeing it now.

The one in the movie was great....but the one in that pic looks a tad creepy....

urgeok 02-14-2005 10:16 AM

the one in the reflection looks like marlon brando, with Mr. Bill's mouth

newb 02-14-2005 10:21 AM

The "Third Rock from the Sun" episode where John Lithgow's character picks up William Shatner's character at the airport was priceless. Shatner character is drunk and tells Lithgow that he thought he saw something on the wing.

Vodstok 02-14-2005 10:23 AM

That is funny. Too bad i never watched that show.

its kind o flike the Mad about you episode where everyone watched Aliens, then asked paul eiser if he had seen it and he said "Nope"

I like it when they do things that about 1 person in 100 would get.

Vodstok 02-15-2005 05:06 AM

the cephaolpod is winning 2-0 so far

newb 02-15-2005 05:41 AM

cuttlefish

ShankS 02-15-2005 05:53 AM

Sargassum

ChEEbA 02-15-2005 06:36 AM

Cuttlefish, again....because it's cool...

Vodstok 02-15-2005 06:56 AM

4-1. The cuttlefish is kicking the fishy's butt. Cool fish, but i like the squiddy guy better myself.

Sargassum Fish

Vodstok 02-16-2005 04:43 AM

Cuttlefish wins!

Now, which one is meaner:

http://www.badgers.org.uk/badgerpage...livora-01a.jpg
A honey Badger

Vs.

A wolverine

http://www.turtletrack.org/Issues02/.../wolverine.jpg

Dont let the fact that they are cute fool you, these are two of the most vicious creatures on earth.

AUSTIN316426808 02-16-2005 04:50 AM

.....

urgeok 02-16-2005 05:57 AM

i'd have to say the wolverine

Vodstok 02-16-2005 12:36 PM

Wolverine is winning so far.

Honey Badgers have the reputaion of having the foulest mood in the animal kingdom
(they would have the foulest mood of any Lifeform, but turnips can be pretty pissy....)

But i watched a thing on Animal planet where they said a wolverine took down a fucking bull moose! i killed a cow moose, but that took my whole fucking car to do....

newb 02-16-2005 12:37 PM

I would say Wolverine.

I always thought wolverines were the badasses. and if it's that damn violent why is it called a HONEY badger?

Vodstok 02-16-2005 12:42 PM

Its is actually tied directly to why they are so mean.

They are from Africa, and they are basically why Africanized and African bees are so hair-trigger psychotic. Honey badgers are godamn honey nuts anmd will endure thousands of stings to get to it. plus they are more or less immune to stings.

Marroe 02-16-2005 02:45 PM

 Is it just me, or do they look almost identical? eh, Wolverine sounds meaner.
