If you think cheerleading is not a sport then you obviously have never done it. Power cheerleading is definatly a sport as far as I'm concerned. I did it for 3 years. When you come home from practice and your all black and blue....its a sport. It came in second to Rugy, for the highest injury rate in high school sports. I sugest watching a power cheerleading competion and see for yourself. They might make it look easy but it takes a lot of practice and a lot of bruises to make it look that good. Its huge in the States. Not so much up here in Canada but....trust me...its a sport.

i didnt even think we had cheerleaders up here in Canada

I've seen it on TV.....There was a crappy movie dedicated to it....But still not a sport.....

natas 11-23-2004 01:53 PM

So.....I guess you can say Nascar isn't a sport. You don't work up a sweat doing that. You just drive around in circles. That's not too hard.

No need to reply and get angry. I say Nascar is a sport. I love it. Watch it as much as I can.....but....I do think I make a good point.

I fucking HATE nascar....its so fucking boring...

"Ok lets have a race where all of the cars look exactly the same....."

"well they have different engines and some are faster than others right?"

"No no, all the same.....INFACT lets put restriction plates on the engines so they dont make TOO much power and the cars dont go too fast"

"Ok, well there are gonna be lots of turns in the track thus requring alot of driver skill right?"

"No, EVEN BETTER!!! The track just turns left and all the cars go in a circle forever"

"well when is the race exciting then?"

"When they CRASH of course!"

WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?I even saw one redneck on the news talking about nascar and he actually said :

"Ya well we pretty much buy everything thats advertised on the cars"

A marketing exec's wet dream....

natas 11-23-2004 02:08 PM

There is actually a lot of skill required. I would love to see a bunch of guys, who think that Nascar is easy, got to a track and have go. Ha!! Coming into the first turn they'd all be in the wall. lol!

Arioch 11-23-2004 02:10 PM

I would agree there is alot of skill involved, but nothing even CLOSE to the likes of REAL racing like The La Mans on tracks like Laguna Seca, etc....

Some of those tracks are insane to negotiate....much less in cars MUCH faster than those in nascar.....

NASCAR would be far more exciting if they made them make a mandatory pitstop every five laps to chug a beer......

Or used more than one car model....or used ACTUAL cars based of production cars....or crashed more (which i think you were implying heh:D ) or turned more than one direction....etc....etc...

Its boarderline with golf in the boring factor...
