I liked the second one myself. Gotta love that sleazy moment where that possessed guy seduces his dimwit sister.

amityville horro 2005

somebody knows about that movie? I know, that is coming... I saw a few photos on net and read some info, it looks, that this movie will be very cool and hot. I think absolutely one from the best made in new times (after 1990). I think it will be one of my favourite.

ShankS 10-26-2004 12:15 AM

imdb not much there though.
scroll down the page, link to some photos, maybe new ones.

Modestas 10-26-2004 12:20 AM

anbd other problem: the best horror movies were made in the past, now, in new times, in theese days, nobody can create really cool horror (except wrong turn)... all new scary horror movies are just remake/"stolen movies": dawn of the dead, texas chainsaw massacre, the exorcist, amityville horror...

Modestas 10-26-2004 12:22 AM

and otyher thing: shank, I cant find any photos in your link, pls give me the more exactly link.

~The Vampyre~

thecritic 10-26-2004 10:36 PM

I think that it looks good. They said that they are going with alot of stuff that was in the book that wasn't in the original movie. So i think that it will ultimately be very very good

KRUGERKID13 10-28-2004 08:20 PM

the series as a whole i didnt like the first one i thought was an excellent filom i will be seeing the remake but i do not like the fact that they remade it

Danni_bear 05-03-2005 07:27 AM

remake of amityville horror...

ok people, so what did ya think? Ryan reynolds suprisingly good choice for the role of defoe...but the little girl could have been put to better use methinks...other than that rather enjoyable :)

virus five 05-03-2005 07:33 AM

You're probably better off posting this in the Modern Horror section, or there may be an existing thread in the "Upcoming" section.

Danni_bear 05-03-2005 07:37 AM

crazy raplh 05-03-2005 08:47 AM

I loved the movie actually, besides the overdrawn of trying to be creepy.

ShankS 05-03-2005 08:55 AM

haven't got round to seeing it at the cinema yet.

The Amityville Horror

Has anyone seen the remake ? I have the orginal on DVD and the remake comes out tomorrow. I was wondering if it was worth buying or just rent it ? Any help would be appreciated, thanks !

alkytrio666 10-04-2005 03:38 AM

I actually loved the remake. I think it's worth a buy.

ENTITY2000 10-05-2005 06:02 PM

amityville horror

the remake, i just watchd it, that was awesome scared the fuck outta me! have ne you guyz seen it yet?

Amamdag 10-05-2005 07:54 PM

I haven't. I hadn't heard good things about it. But maybe now I'll go out and watch it.

The first one was always weird to me, that the dad just went nutso and they never tried to leave or anything. How do they handle that in this one? Aside from the scariness--which is great--does the story work well?

GorePhobia 10-05-2005 10:06 PM

is it me or should this be in the movie thread?

PR3SSUR3 10-06-2005 06:24 AM

It's you.

It should be in the movie forum.

AmericanManiac 10-06-2005 10:23 PM

I just finished watching it, my point of view on it I think it was one of the best remakes of a movie. I say its well worth 20$ to buy it. It had me freaking out.

zomb5150 10-07-2005 07:04 AM

I still prefer the original myself but I do enjoy seeing someone elses take on the original idea.
Some people don't care for movie remakes, I don't mind them at all.
Most of the time they suck but I still give them a chance.

Same here...It isn't like a remake is trying to REPLACE the original...You don't have to choose one or the other.....We just end up getting 2 movies instead of 1, which is fine with me...If I really like a movie, I'm happy with as much of it as I can get :)

BH14 10-07-2005 12:03 PM

When i picked up this movie, I had my doubts about it. First, I re-watched the original and it was good but I found it to be slow at times.

I expected this movie to follow the original and it didnt which was a good thing. I kept making comparisons to the original and then I just stopped and enjoyed this re-make. This re-make added a lot of nice additions to the original such as more of an explanation to why... and of course, the special effects exceeded 1976 movie and even today's special effects. This movie had a lot of pop outs as well which were pretty good. Ryan Reynolds did a good acting job as well. Not the typical jokester character that he usually plays. I give it a 7.5 out of 10.

Dont compare every little part to the original but just enjoy it for a nice fun horror movie.
