how is being hurt better than not being hurt?

well, i guess if you are happy all the time it would be a little boring. it's good to feel some hurt so you can really, turly understand what it means to be happy and not take it for granted.

i don't know about "point to it"..it's not exactly something you plan.it just happens as opposed to certain carnal aspects of human "coupling" if you will.it's like a book or movie that you can't fast forward...it's a package deal,in order to get the "outcome"you must take the whole thing...good or bad.

Because at one point you have "something" to make you hurt. Whats the point of not having anything in life? Because believe me ive lived this way for years.

It is up to YOU to figure out why you are here. Maybe you weren't meant to love or be loved. However, due to circumstance, there are those of us who are doomed to a miserable existance.

I don't think you are one of those people. You are still VERY young. You have your entire life ahead of you to figure out why you are here, what purpose you serve, and if you even serve on at all. Most of us spend our entire life trying to figure this out.

Also, don't let yourself get burnt out on love so early. Take it from someone who has loved countless times and lost on every single one of those: life is worthless without love. Even if it takes you your entire life to find that love, it is STILL WORTH IT.

Edit: Also, just so you know, I've dated over 20 woman (and 3 men): I know what it's like. Keep at it.
