It's all a matter of taste. In my opinion all Asian vampire miss the boat by a mile and are pretty much laughable, as is all their horror. Their culture has a completely different take on the dark fantastic than the Gothic tradition we inherited from Europe.
Some of the stuff thter than Hammer or Universal or big-budget Hollywood that I found interesting...Leomra, the films of Jean Rollin, Blood-Spattered Bride, and Blood Ceremony. And of course the great Black Sunday and Black Sabbath. |
