do you think a criminal is going to go into a gun store and try and buy a gun, of course not, he's going to go buy it from the guy in the black van in a dark alley.
what is your logic with this statement? the only reason a criminal buys from the black van (or steals from someone) is because 1) the person doesnt want to wait 2) they have a criminal record and arent allowed too

What about the cases of people who are enraged, and rush out to buy a gun? Don't you think waiting periods are good for this reason?

Umm ... if you just went off on me in German, I got a pic for you. My last post was a question for Happy Camper.

So, here's the pic. If you didn't go off on me in German, then please disregard.

lol that wasnt towards u silly. ill PM u

HappyCamper 07-23-2004 03:13 PM

fluffho i agree with you on the van thing. A criminal buys from a guy in a van cause he can't buy it from a store, so the waiting periods don't really effect the criminals, they effect the law abiding citizens, that was my point, guess I just didn't address that well...

oh and my German sucks

fluffho 07-23-2004 03:16 PM

ok lets think about this

who would be more likely to need a gun RIGHT NOW?

someone who is going to stash it in the top of the closet with the bullets locked in a safe (safety precaution for kids) becuase he wants to protect his family??

or someone who wants to off someone or rob a bank??

i think its safe to say that the majority of people who have an issue with the wait list/background check is well... criminals

HappyCamper 07-23-2004 03:16 PM

as far as people who are enraged and rush out and buy a gun, how many people do you know who would actually run out and buy a gun and kill their co-workers or class mates?

HappyCamper 07-23-2004 03:19 PM

well I have to say that I believe getting rid of guns, won't work...our government can't keep drugs out of the country, how are they going to keep guns out? also getting rid of guns, just means people would find another way to kill each other.

like I said earlier, the problem isn't with the guns, it's with the people.

i'm done.
