Because Paul McCartney is one of the greatest of all time. Just because you play fast metal doesn't mean your any good. I can't remember his name but the dude from Primus is one of the best |

Yeah I agree on this partially, while there are some plain old run of the mill bassist in metal that do nothing but chug along with the root of the song and add no emphasis on bass fills or just have absolutely no style to them at all... But on the other hand there are a lot of incredible bassist in metal that have created their own unique style and are just plain out fucking awesome, for instance, Cliff Burton, Steve Harris, John Myung, and Robert Trujillo... Dee Dee Ramone is one of my favourite. Not saying he's one of the best. OH, one of the best bass players EASILY is Brian Ritchies from The Violent Femmes. He can bass solo on your FACE. Just listen to "add it up" |
