wouldnt work unfortunatly, it's the glue they've used to bond the layers of the disk together, thats 'rotting' the outer plasic layer away.

I've read about it and there was something on the tv a while ago.

when the disk spins in the player, the high velocity cracks the outer surface up, because the glue has weakened it, hence an unplayabe disk.
