VHS recorders were a big ticket item back then. They were using the fact that you could watch one program while recording another as a big selling point. Like ShankS said, VHS tapes were expensive and had no real time frame for when they would be released. I purchased my first VHS machine around 81 or 82. I remember well the first movies I purchased were Halloween and Friday the 13th part 2. They cost me around $60-70 for the pair.
My first machine was a Betamax. It had an awesome remote control that plugged in to the machine. We didn't get a VHS machine until the mid-to-late 80's.

I actually heard this in a Suncoast video once... it explains why these people SEll movies as opposed to making them:

"Man, LAserdiscs were superior to DVDs in every way"

Yeah, they took forever to scan the correct track, they made 4 movies on laserdisc, and they were every bit as "easy" to store as an LP.

i'd definately have to say that lazor disc was before my time friend being only familiar with VHS and DVD i'd say i honestly don't know. i have been looking for subspecies and since full moon went bankrupt i've only been able to find the series on lasor disc or VHS.

hey if anyone out there has the series on VHS is reasonably good condition would you be interested in a trade?

Texas Chainsaw Massacure 2

"This is fun, this is fun, hit him in the head! Hit him in the head!!"

That line haunted me (in a good way) for years
