I understand being involved inthe project, and i know he is a very passionate person, I just am wary of him because I don't quite trust him to represent both sides of a story fairly. I'll put it this, way, I'm not 100% sure of his journalistic integrity :). I dont think he lies, I just think he is interested in showing the side of the truth that he agrees with.

As far as politics, I am dead center. i don't care for Liberal or Conservative. i think everyone should make their own choices.

As far as "Liberal Nazism", i dont know where I first heard the term, but it basically refers to people who are so dead set in their views (in this case, Liberal), that they will not allow others to disagree, and will persecute them for it.

Basically, if someone believed that eating animals was wrong, that would usually qualify them as "Liberal". Now, if that person felt so strongly about it that they harrassed people for eating meat, interjected into conversations to lecture people on their views of the subject, and ostracized anyone who didnt agree with them, they would be a "Libberal Nazi".

I'm sure it will come as no surprise that i spent a decent amount of time around some of these individuals.

Ah! Interesting, interesting. "Liberal Nazi". I'll have to remember that one. Yeah, I'll have to admit that Mike Moore isn't a true journalist. He's a documentarian ... if that's the term. His films are definitely one-sided because he's trying to persuade his audience to see what he sees. But, I think intelligent viewers realize this and are able to pick out when a piece of information or a particular argument is valid and should be agreed with, and when he presents them with something that may require a little more looking into or thinking about before an opinion is reached. And I like films like this ... they're good exercise in critical interaction and always keep my interest. And I'm very liberal, but I don't think we shouldn't eat animals! I'm more of a scientific liberal. Human beings are omnivores, and meat is a natural part of our diet. Getting all weepy over the feelings of animals is ridiculous. I've never met an animal rights activist who cared a whip for ugly animals. I don't see anybody rushing to defend the rights of the cockroach who gets sprayed in the Raid commercials, or the stingrays that got speared on "Survivor". But as someone eats a rat, everyone's up in arms! "Don't shoot that deer!" one second, and "Step on that spider!" the next.

Yeah, the evil chick that I worked with one summer wanted to be a pure Vegan, and immediatley took the position opposite of mine because I was percieved as the "Alpha Male" (read: I didnt back down from her shit like everyone else did), she hated men (she wasnt bisexual, but she was trying to be, how sad is that? Because it was a more "open minded" way of life.... ).

Anyway, there was a large garden spider in the tomato field on one of the plants. So what does she and her entourage decide to do? "oo icky spider, kill it!"

It took five minutes of explaining to them that the large ones with webs are female. The fact that it was a living thing, and probably the only reason we werent dried-out husks fromhorsefly bites, never entered their meager little brains. Feminist solidarity was the only reason they didnt kill it.

Of course, once they agreed, i took the opportunity to rag on their ignorance and willingness to toss aside their "beliefs" just because they thought something was ugly...

Wait ... they didn't kill the spider because it was a female??? That's classic. First time I've heard that stance taken in the defense of an insect. Trying to be bisexual because it was a "more 'open-minded' way of life"? What a crock! I don't believe our sexual orientation has anything to do with our mental perceptions. I'm into women because I'm chemically programmed to be so. Even if I tried to be "open-minded", and look at another guy sexually, I would be overcome with revulsion beyond my control. I'm sorry, but nothing gets me more limp than a guy spreading his cheeks (except, perhaps, my mom spreading hers). BUT, I have no problem with homosexuals. I truly believe that their chemical make-up is different than mine, when it comes to sexual orientation. These people who say "homos are gay by choice" have no idea what they're talking about. Who can be gay by choice??? As I said, I couldn't choose to be gay, even if I tried. I didn't "choose" to be a heterosexual, either. IMO: People can do whatever the hell the want, as long as they don't hurt or take advantage of anyone else.

Vodstok 06-25-2004 10:20 AM

Exactly. Needless to say, years afterwards, i ran into her again, and it turned out she was going through a "confused" Phase...

Odd thing is, i havant changed a bit... :D

I agree with you. She really hated me at the time because i told her she was full of shit. You cant change your orientation willingly.

That's liek those christian groups who supposedly "convert" homosexuals "back to strait". Reminds me of "Heteroy" on SNL a few years ago :)

I dont hat ehim, but i have very little respect for him. He is incapable of doing anything without trying to further his own political views. I understand him being opinionated, i am very opinionated myself, but i can't stand people who cram their beliefs down other's throats. He is very much a "agree with me or you are wrong" kind of person, at least what i have seen.

He stands too close to the border of "Liberal Nazism".

I am, however, curious about this. i just don't trust him to provide any subject, especially this one, objectively, relying solely on fact, and not letting his emotions and beliefs get in the way.

i have yet to see that from him.

How is he craming it down your thraot, if you don't have to listen to him if ya don't wan'r

and for the record it is one of if not the best movie i have ever seen in my life, but i'm a democrat
