Lol, people understand snakes, spiders etc but FROGS? There was one in the driveway the other night when we pulled up home and even though my husband scared it away, I sat in the car for about 10 minutes. I was that afraid to put my foot down on the driveway!

They are icky... either slimy wet with frogs, or warts with toads, but have a baby cuteness, doughy body, smooth and big eyes. I was never afraid of them instinctively. And then because I know they're defenseless, no teeth, claws, fangs, nothing. They're slow and calm.

Although, it is interesting... if you remember from the Ten Commandments/Bible, one of the plagues was the pestilence of frogs. Just based on that, I wouldn't be surprised if there was some collective unconscious fear of frogs.

I dont even know how my phobia of frogs came about. As a young lad i went frog spawn collecting and visited many ponds, playing and doing what kids do,messing around. Then as i got older the phobia kicked in,i havent the foggiest when or where it started.

I dont like heights neither, but that is not a bad one i suppose, that has real fear factor. If i fall i die.

I love this discussion. Frogs are an interesting one, but doesn't it make you feel a little better to know that someone else has the same fear? Ive started this thread on a couple of boards and I find it really interesting watching people bond over fears, especially the more odd and less rational ones. Not to mention its all great food for writing.

Yes,it is good to know i`m not alone. Not many things scare me to be honest but to find something as small and innocent as a frog brings me in a cold sweat.

My eldest daughter doesnt like clowns.

While my youngest doesnt like cleaning her room, doing her homework, going to bed, going to school, being quiet, eating her meals.::wink::
