I'm going to be cremated.

From the logical point of view: I don't see the point in wasting land. In 50 years usually the family members who knew you will have moved on and won't be visiting you anyway. By the time I die no one will remember my grandparents (who are all dead), let alone care enough to go visit their graves.

From my spiritual point of view: I want as much of my soul residue or energy released from my body as can be, and only cremation can guarantee that. Flesh suit, nothing more. Release me back into the Aether as fast as possible...

I wanna be turned into chili and have all my enemies invited out to celebrate my death with a big ole bowl.

I wanted to be cremated. But I've been looking into the cremation process. I'm not sure anymore. Dead or not, having my remains put through a blender doesn't excite me.

How in your view does this process work?

Cryogenics all the way... Unless I get married then I'm going to pull a Homer Simpson and be stuffed and put on the couch as a constant reminder to my wife of our marital vows.

Failing that, medical donor.

LOL! I wonder how many cryogenics companies have gone out of business? I think you can be a medical donor and still get stuffed. They don't want your skin.

It probably sounds like a joke, but if it was an option I'd actually like to be mummified. I don't want to be buried and I don't want to get cremated either... although I know that in reality I probably won't care when the day comes :p But I don't like the thought of either of those options.

probably go with cremated, with nearly 7 billion and counting its just common courtesy at this point, UNLESS they've found a way for the common person to get a space burial, the idea of floating about the universe eternally is kind of amusing, plus who knows who you'd come across, a few million years of floating about, then you happen upon a civilization who has re-animation down pat.

... and it could potentially start a whole new horror trend: zombies from space! :D

I want to be mutilated and put on display for body works or bodies ... one of those cool medical exhibits. ... unless someone like... could use the organs for a practical purpose, like living.
