Oooooh, Vincent Price's Madhouse!

It seems odd to me that that's never been made available on DVD.

Also, Ferox, those titles will probably reacha fair price. The fact that they're Video Nasties makes some of them really expensive (some reach prices of up to £500)

They're in the attic in my Moms.

The boxs are in good condition the label on both are very faded but they both play well.

I'm going to try photograph and catalog them thi year so i can sell them.

\)

So can you tell me how much the VHS would be worth? Just curious.

Yeah seeing as it looks in good shape. There's a couple on ebay now along with some cheaper faded and beat up ones for $25.

The older tapes from companies like Wizard, Magnum and Continental tend to be the ones collectors are after. Over in my part of the world Palace Explosive is the main one people chase. Later releases that have DVD releases aren't really worth too much.

Woah! Something that beat up for 40 bucks?

ZombieDrone 01-03-2012 02:07 PM

Can't tell you.

I'm not an expert on such things, and the only interested party would be Vincent Price fans as many of them as there are, myself included of course.

A rough estimate would be around English £20 (around 30 USD) but that's a very rough, off the top of my head, figure.

I'm not interested in buying, I don't have a VCR for a start, but it caught my eye.

Probably round $5 - $20 USD judging by eBay auctions. Don't really think it's a title a lot of people would be jumping up to buy because it's fairly common.

Cool be keen to check them out. They'll be out of my price range though! Be interesting to see what they'll go for now that a lot of them are on DVD. Still pretty sort after and are cool artefacts of the era. I mainly just pick up tapes for under $10. I'm a fairly casual collector these days more into buying vinyl.

Actually being on DVD doesn't have much of an effect on the price to collectors - they just want the original VHS and the rarer the better. I even heard that the cut Anthropopahgus on Radio Shack label is worth more than the uncut VIP one (I used have the radio Shack one too :(. SOme collectors buy stuff on defunct labels regardless what the film is.

What I'll prolly do is try get rid of the rarer/more valuble ones to some of the Scandanaivna collectors (or at least offer them here at the same price).

Then I'll try get rid of the rest in a lot sale - I'll see how that goes but I'll you have a look see first. The only thing is the postage to you would be pretty heavy.

Thats the plan anyway - though I did intend to do all that last year :-)

anyone else?

The Ugly Duchess 02-01-2012 06:28 PM

I still have some VHS tapes but these are generally those that I not recorded or bought in DVD.

I will see what I have and let you know if I want to get rid of them.

Generally the persons I know that still want VHS usually do not want the horror movies.

I got rid of all of my Betas plus 3 beta machines.

The only VHS tape I have for getting rid of is What Happened To Gilbert Grape? with Johnny Depp.

I'll see if I have any horror ones that I have replaced with DVD.
